Hey guys

So, what strange, left of the road, obscure, nobody will believe you like, Beach Boys/Solo songs are you listening to lately?  Here are 5 of mine:

1.  He Couldn't Get His Poor Old Body To Move:  Right now, this is my favorite Brian "exercise/health song." lol I am listening, though, to a bootleg mix.  It is really dirty and muddy and faster than the album version.  And I LOVE it! It rocks and I cannot stop listening to it.  Love when Brian screams "yeah, yeah yeah!!!!! then it kicks back in.  I would love to see the band resurrect this in a kick ass manner at a Brian show.

2. Marilyn Rovell:  so quirky.  Another Brian "day in the life" song.  Love the last 5 seconds! C'mon Mary

3.  Getting Hungry by Celebration:  Nice to hear this in a new picture frame.  Love the Caribbean feel.

4.  Sea Cruise:  I seriously cannot get enough of this.  This is like my personal Shortening Bread.  I constantly play it on guitar.  Love that sax riff. Should have been on 15 Big Ones

5. California Girls: Le'id In Hawaii Version.  Seriously mellow.   Love this kind of "unplugged" approach.

So, I am pretty sure if anyone heard me play "Marilyn Rovell" as I drove around town on bust, they would think I was nuts.  lol What are everyone else's guilty pleasures these days?

I wouldn't classify Sea Cruise as a guilty pleasure as it's better than any of the oldies on 15BO.

Been listening to 'California Girls' from the Lei'd in Hawaii boot A LOT lately. I love that SmileySmile-esque outro. Also, I've been wracking up the playcount on 'Let Us Go On This Way' and 'Roller-Skating Child'

Not really left-field, but I've been playing the Warkakey/Wrightfan version of 'Do You Like Worms' constantly. Great mix Warnakey/Wrightfan!!

Cuckkoo Clock, County Fair, In the Parking Lot... if those qualify...if not, then the Wind Chimes fade sequence from SOT#18...

You had asked, in the "Unreleased Track Information Station" thread, about the early mixes of "15 Big Ones".
One of the great things about Sea Cruise is that it still retains the feel that a lot of the tracks had early on.

I won't mind if I open the door next week, and find a box from you with all these tracks on CDs, sitting on the stoop...

Karen (TV show theme) - heard this for the first time not so long ago and love it, I think the guy that wrote it also wrote The Munsters theme tune.

My girlfriend is totally into The Monkey's Uncle lately. I'm talking the song here folks...
I actually love Somewhere Near Japan and am constantly trying to re-eq it an compress it until it sounds almost well-recorded.
Drip Drop everyday.

"The Monkey's Uncle" is kind of a great song. How did the Beach Boys end up singing on that anyway?

edit: "Games Two Can Play" is a nice little ditty too. It's too goofy for me to not like!

Good replies.  Games Two Can Play! Oh Yeah...love that one.  Drip Drop...I just loved it soon as I heard it.  I don't think I could ever get tired of that one.
