I know, this might have been done in some other way. But most of the time, it's just about "what 5 questions would you ask Brian?" But I'd love to get the opportunity (obviously impossible as I am including Carl & Denny) to ask about 1 specific album that I think that specific Beach Boy would enjoy discussing and answering questions about.

UPDATE: I thought it over and contemplated changing some answers, so I'm gonna move some stuff around:

Mike- 15 Big Ones MIU
Carl- Holland Wild Honey
Dennis- Bambu (would love to hear about the original track listing)
Brian- Love You (I feel Brian doesn't go in detail about this album except that it's his "favorite" Beach Boy album)
Al- MIU Holland
Bruce- L.A.

Nice topic!

Brian - Friends
Carl - Smiley Smile
Mike - Summer Days
Dennis - Sunflower
Al - Surf's Up
Bruce - Wild Honey (what WAS he doing?)

FYI - Mojo Collections from Spring 2002 has a nice article called Tilting Windmills, about Holland. Al has quite a few comments, the first one being "Insanity!".

All members...Smile....Short interview!

I thought about that (or using pet sounds), but there's just so much coverage in interviews and doc.s

I can imagine just sitting down with Mike Love and say: "Hi Mike, let's talk about Smile." He instantly just gets up and leaves without saying anything.  Grin

You couldn't scan this in if you get the chance? I'd love to read it!

I'd like to see that as well.
BTW, is Al saying it was Insanity during Holland?

Check out the Beach Boys Starline website, the place for pictures of many countries Beach Boys releases on 45.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
