Why has nobody made a thread about this salacious (and potentially career ending) possibility? Sure, we all want to see Love You live for sheer awesomeness, but for madcap audacity nothing could beat an Adult/Child tour.

One of our number did actually ask Brian if he'd perform It's Over Now or Still I Dream Of It live.

The big mans answer?

I'd love to hear them both live. And they're closer to BWRG than to most of Brian's other work since they have that more "adult" orchestrated style.

Mike's immortal reaction upon hearing Adult Child for the first time was "What the F*ck are you doing?!!"

On the Brian facebook "chat" for the BWRG promo, I made an observation that the orchestrations on Adult Child and BWRG was very similar and that those two songs in particular would sound great slotted in with the Gershwin material should they tour for it.  I asked if there was any plans to play those tracks and yes, indeed the answer was "No."  It's hard to tell if he was totally opposed to performing those songs at all (bad memories?) or if it was just a simple "No, that's not what we have planned for the eventual full album performances of BWRG"  Either way, no dice.   Cry  It's too bad; I really dig the idea of what Brian's currently doing relating back to an album OTHER than Pet Sounds or SMiLE.

I think he meant nobody wants to hear the whole album live. I'm sure many would but it is an extremely uneven album at best and doesn't really deserve to be performed live in its entirety. Still I Dream of It would of course be wonderful to hear but is also nakedly autobiographical for Brian as a live song, which is quite understandable and should be respected.

Great call. I think even hardcore followers would be disappointed when hearing the material completely live. Some songs are great, and some are bland. There is 'no story to tell', as was the case with Pet Sounds and Smile. Let's not fall into the trap of fandom overstretch.

I was thinking, who could replace Dennis on the lead vocals for It's Trying to Say...but I imagined Brian doing it with his voice now, it kinda makes sense! the lyrics sung by him sound like something he'd write now....about lovin' that simple way people live from day to day....having a song inside you

I live in Dallas, TX.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the band would wear sweats and be shirtless with beards.

There is only one possible set-list opener, and that is:

*DUH DUH DUH DUH* HERAAARGH! *DUH DUH DUH DUH* To get you babe I went through the WRING-AH!

I wonder what todays audience would think of this? The American Idol people would hate it, which is fine by me.

This is crazy talk, gentlemen. The Adult/Child Shortenin' Revue would be dressed in regulation dressing gowns sprinkled liberally with either cocaine, hamburgers debris or spilt beer. Other clothing optional. Beards required, although a ludricous fake can be supplied if needs be.
