The whole  post is a joke, right?

Hell, I'm still trying to figure out what the thread title means.

Who helped Brian to succeed more in the early part of his career than Mike Love?

Murry.

So the two biggest villains in the Beach Boys family, are the 2nd and 3rd biggest reasons they became so successful. Interesting.

Truth is a complicated thing.  The fact is, a lot of times you have to be a douche just to get stuff done.  It would have never happened without Mike and Murry.  And past a certain point, they were a lot of the reason got so messed up too.  Our strengths are our weakneeses.

It's so cool, it doesn't NEED a title! It's cooler than a frog barfing up canine sunglasses.

Maybe we should have a competition to come up with the most fitting title for this thread. Judging from the OP I'd go for "Brian is a douche and I want to have Mike's child."

The original title for the topic was "But what would Mike think?", the question Brian never bothered to ask himself. Somehow it got deleted, though. Weird.

The title's perfect!  Doesn't it imply 'division'?

Forward slash would be "division".

I look at it and I just see "slanted".  Not sure what that would mean.

If one uses the quotations marks in the title of a topic, everything between those marks changes in a backslash (\)

EDIT: I've added the original title to this topic again.

Good. You are Meister Eckermann to Dada's Johann Wolfgang Goethe.

That should've been Johnnie Cochran's excuse for OJ. "He was using quotation marks, your honor".

I think it's a weird dynamic between any two Beach Boys. The Brian/Mike one is maybe the oddest. I think they loved and hated each other. I think they both really helped and really hurt the other. As far as the music goes they did some great work together that neither could or would have done by themselves. End of story.

Only on a Beach Boys messageboard will you find a picture of a frog throwing up sunglasses onto a dogs face posted in a topic about Mike Love. That was probably the most hilariously randomly awesome thing EVER.  Grin

Brian, Mike, Dennis and Murry all had egos! Carl didn't have much of one until mabye 1969-77. Al never showed much of one. He was just happy to be there.

But yes, I agree that after Brian, Mike and Murry were the biggest reasons for the Beach Boys success.
