I have to say I have no interest in hearing the Queen version of Holy Man.  I don't mind Taylor adding vocals, but that backing track is magic.  Why on earth would they want someone to f*** with it?

I still can't fathom why they got Taylor to do those vocals...I cringe every time it comes on. But yeah, that track is magical.

Love the Hawkin's version. Glad they left the Queen "thing" off POB. And a "thank you" to Mr. Doe for fixing the link if I messed it up! H.E.L.P. How does one respond to a specific post in the reply section? Not very technical, here.

If you want to know if a quote is going to work: Before the quote, in brackets, you should see the word quote and then specific info about who & what you're quoting

After the quote there will be the word quote in brackets. These two elements I guess are like exclamation marks, opening and closing the quote. If either of these is missing, it won't work.

I'd definitely be interested to hear the Queen version but can understand why they left it off.

If you squint, Taylor sounds like Dennis enough. And the lyrics are Jakobson, so that's good enough for me, although the fact that they aren't vintage is a bit odd - did Dennis not have lyrics for it then? (this probably has been done before, though)
I also have zero interest in hearing a Queen version. A really bad choice of band....

Some of the lyric is vintage - the bit Stevie Kalinich wrote.

Queen.  Shudder. Cheese you can smell a mile off.  Still, could've been worse. Could've been Bono!

According to Gregg, several of Dennis' cowriters tried to come up with a set of lyrics for "Holy Man" back in the day:  Jim Dutch, Stephen Kalinich, Carl Wilson, and Gregg himself, but he says they always ended up in the trash.  It was hard not to be cliched on the subject, he said.

Never would have guessed so many BB's fans dislike the mighty Queen. I'm a major fan of everything they did pretty much up till "Hot Space".

I think that would've been pretty good actually. Or Chris Martin of Cold Play.

I never bought into the whole 'pissing on a picaso' as Taylor Hawkins puts it. As long as it sounds good, I will dig it. That is why I really dig the Beatle's Love album mixed by Sir Martin jr. Or Smells Like Sloop John B. Maybe I am a musical heritic, I don't know.

Art is art. On the other hand water is water isn't it? And east is east and west is west. And if you take cranberries and stew them like apple sauce, it tastes much more like prunes then rhubarb does.

"Over the years, I've been accused of not supporting our new music from this era (67-73) and just wanting to play our hits. That's complete b.s......I was also, as the front man, the one promoting these songs onstage and have the scars to show for it."
