Ok.

This is either on TSS or GV UM boot.

It's a short track, and I think all it is is a repeated descending bass line, maybe organ or flutes, and maybe some light percussion?

What is it on and what is it called?

Try listening to the end of Can't Wait Too Long?

I figured out it's not either of those. It's on the UM17, and it's the H&V "Last Part" with only the bass and flutes.

Anyone know where I can read the original/alternative lyrics to Please Let Me Wonder?

Now here we are together
This would've been worth waiting forever
I always knew I'd feel this way

And please forgive my shaking
Can't you tell my heart is breaking
I'm so afraid of what you'll say

(Baby) Please let me wonder
(If I've been the one you love)
Please let me wonder
(If I'm who you're dreaming of)
Please let me wonder

I know this may be the wrong time
I've loved you such a long time
And just loving you won't make you stay

And somehow the truth doesn't matter
When I know my dreams could be shattered
So please don't say what you want to say

(Baby) Please let me wonder
(If I've been the one you love)
Please let me wonder
(If I'm who you're dreaming of)
Please let me wonder, love

thanks for posting those lyrics... never seen em. really changes what the song is all about.

Re. This Whole World chords

the chords themselves are fairly basic, but the progression is highly unorthodox. "they don't make sense musically" sounds like something a music teacher might say. obviously they do make sense and flow masterfully through several keys, as does TWGMTR.

only Brian could come up with it though.

February/March 1969. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it was recorded specifically for the non-album Break Away single.

This is a little more arbitrary, but are we in agreement that the mono mix of Fun, Fun, Fun kicks much more ass than the stereo mix?

Reading in Badman's book, I didn't realize Brian was a little intimnidated when her heard Terry Melcher was going to produce Help Me Rhonda for the Rip Chords...did Brian think about how much of a #1 hit he had on his hands or was he afraid Terry/RipChords might take all the glory/

I've a question.  Which are the vintage 1966-67 Smile mixes done by Brian that have made the rounds, and on which titles can they generally be found?

Thanks.

Out of curiosity (and randomness)

- Heights of each member? Just wondering... I'm probably at least a foot shorter than Brian!
- Resemblances that the Wilson bros + Love share? Wondering about that after randomly reading some article relating to kinship and extended family

I get random every once in a while  Roll Eyes  Don't be surprised if I ask a few more later

Does anybody know when and where the VERY FIRST public acknowledgement was that Brian Wilson had some type of mental illness, or "emotional issues", for lack of a better term? Was his 1964 nervous breakdown on the airplane ever reported in any news papers, or made public in any way?

What is/are the best reference guide(s) for unreleased/rare Beach Boys songs? As in a complete list (that we know) of songs by the Beach Boys that are unreleased, floating around via the internet, on soundtracks, b-side songs, demo tracks, etc. I'm looking to attempt to fill my itunes with all things Beach Boys and I want to know what all tracks are out there.

I've heard Mike plays guitar. Does he do so on any Beach Boys or solo recordings? I'm suspecting maybe the 1970 version of "Big Sur" has him playing but I have no idea.

Has anyone around here or among the whole BB fanbase yet tried to do an album like George Martin (and his son) did with The Beatles "Love" but with The Beach Boys stuff ?
I can already imagine some great mash-ups and different versions for some song... (and the artwork, same background but with blue and purple colors with and one unique picture of the band we can all recognize just by the shadows, and title i guess would be "Surf" ?)

The title would be: Mashed Potato.....

 Cool

Nopw, never hEard it.

will say I wish Brian left the harmonica in the single version...or at least had Paul Mertins play it when they perform it live, it'd be a nice little wink to those who think about it.
Was Help Me Ronda ever played live at any time?
I know Help You, Rhonda was played at Wally Heider's place after Lei'd in Hawaii.
