Has the title Slow Booze been confirmed as a track that exists or is it connected to Holy Man in some way as it's written together sometimes as a title or was it a working title for Holy Man?
No track with that title exists, pure myth...there is a working title called "Slow Blues" that is from the Holy Man era.

The first time I met Brian (B.B. Kings New York Aug 19, 2002), I was surprised to see him drinking a can of Coors Light (relatively quickly I might add).   I was surprised at the time to see him drink at all, but as long as he has it under control a drink or two now and then shouldn't be a problem, right?

OMG, Brian drank a beer!
Let's each of us, tonight, drink one coors light apiece, and see if it creates a problem!

Hey bgas,

Yeah, I know it isn't a big deal at all.  I didn't mean to imply that it was.  Looking back at what I wrote I realize that I may come off as a prude - I'm not - I was having a double rum and coke at the time.  I was just struck by the fact that after all the stories of Brian's excesses, it was interesting to me to see him as just a regular dude having a beer.  I know some people who have struggled with addiction who cannot go back to moderation at all and have to cut out their vice of choice entirely for the rest of thier lives...  I think that was my original point but clearly it didn't find it's way into my previous post...

How rare is the all summer long cover misprint?

However many the first print run was, that's how many there are. It's rare, but not insanely so: by then the band had had four Top 20 albums (three Top 10) and six Top 20 singles (five Top 10), so I'm guessing the first run was pretty substantial. Maybe 30,000.

'69 karate showdown at RCA studio

brian vs elvis in a no holds barred martial arts battle

who would have won? brian has shown his warrior spirit before, and he is obviously a natural competitor. but i can't help thinking that if elvis had responded offensively with a judo chop, it could have been over for bri.

How much instrumentation has Brian played on his solo recordings? (1988-present)

I just noticed that the pattern on the ground of the SMiLE cover matches the shirts the boys are wearing in the studio pics in the booklet.

Is it just me, or does the 'All Day' piece from SMiLE (which was used in Love To say DaDa/Blue Hawaii) sound quite a bit like the verses in It's Over Now

Elvis, no question. A couple of years and a few hundred pounds later, however, and Brian "Steak" Wilson would destroy The King, imo.

It's not the rock that's smoking, it's the Indians hiding behind it.  Grin

Speaking of modular recording and its use of sections "pieced" together, I was wondering....while listening to the outtakes/sections of Rio Grande, I was wondering if anyone had any idea where any of those sections might have gone in the Rio Grande recording that we know (from BW88) ...especially the "cool cool guy" parts

Isn't the fade of I'm Waiting For The Day an insert, cos of the string break? And therefore modular?

Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure "Time To Get Alone" as well.  There's a noticeable edit after the second verse as it goes back into the chorus that suggests they did a copy/paste with it.  Very ahead of it's time, considering that's how a lot of records are still made today.

I was thinkin about TTGA earlier today at work as I thought about this thread, forgot to mention it...for me, the Hawthorne version with the horn section, the different mixes, different takes on "deep and wide," and the different endings.
