Hi,

I have a question about the Single "Surfin Safari/409"... when the Single was released officialy, "409" was the A-Side, wasnīt it, and Surfin Safari was the B-Side. Correct? But I always thought, that they turned around the Single after a few weeks so that "Surfin Safari" was the A-Side... so does anyone know how it was?

Unfortunaltely I donīt have the Single myself so I cannot look at the cover. Can anyone help?
Thank you!

I don't have my copies available right now, but IIRC, there was no side A and side B designation.  I don't know if that's any help.

I think you're right, wallabie. DJ's preferred Surfin' Safari and it became more popular , so they made the change to boost sales

Hi Andrew,

happy birthday by the way  Grin. I found the evidenz that Surfin Safari was A-Side on your Homepage, but in your book you wrote that "409" was the A-Side. So you might be the best man to tell me, because Íīm working on a beach boys disco for a project and I want to make it right. But I am not sure about Surfin Safari... Smiley.

What did happened in Phoenix?

Thank you guys for your posts Smiley
