I assume a bunch of you have heard the recording of an obviously plastered Brian doing Barbara Ann w/ ringo and co.
anyone know when it happened?

if you haven't heard it, consider yourself lucky.  it's horrible and sad. I'm shocked Ringo let it go down.

The guy's hammered at a party.  How many times has this happened to you?  It just isn't downloaded for scrutiny by your 'fans'.

I like the Bob Hope Show version (1965 or 1966?) with Brian present.  Short version but rocks!

Is this from the same party where Brian was running around yelling about VDP being the biggest butthole in the world?  LOL

I have been reading about this "infamous" recording for a while now. It would REALLY ruin my day if somebody sent me an mp3... Cool

Yeh same here!! I saw you mentioned it in an earlier post too (I think) and I was going to agree with you but forgot... But I made sure I downloaded that version as it rocks!! I love Brian on that clip. I'm pretty sure its a pre-recorded track but its a live vocal from what I understand?? And the vocals sound superb.

I would actually LOVE to hear it, just out of sheer curiosity.

Hey, I just found this topic again. Mp3, anyone? :D

Hardly discreet old chap. The way to do it is to surreptitiously ask for a PM.

What?Huh?!!!!!!!!!!  The Who's version is loud, racous, brash, rambunctious, over the top - and just plain rocks!  And the little bit of barbershop harmony near the end is brilliant.

My personal fave version of the song.

What I'd like to know is, where is the rest of this party recording? I doubt somebody would turn on a tape player and shut it off after three minutes or so.

Yea, same here.

By the way, why was I the only one censored and warned asking for a PM? I feel bullied.

Interesting, very interesting.  I think The Who do it fine, not a patch of the Beach Boys version though!  I am now curious to see what other bands would do it with it (late 60s Stones?).  I haven't heard the version you are all talking about, I'm too shy to ask for a pm.

Is this the same party where Brian played Caroline, No?  Maybe I'm getting confused.   Huh

Wee Helper said it best when he responded to you, Ptolamaios.

Don't feel personally offended/bullied right away; you're not the first to be warned about this (and won't be the last one either). It was probably unintentionally, but there are board rules, so therefore we edited your message.
