I don't really have a point or question, but I find it strange how different Brian looks in 1977 and 1983. Both years, Brian had a short beard, and was in fairly good shape. The one main difference was that his hair was longer in 1977. But he doesn't looks very different to me. His hair color seems a bit lighter in 83 then any other period. His hair is normally dark brown. Maybe its just me, I don't know.

His hair wasn't longer for ALL of 1977...haven't you seen the super-short crop he sported that summer?

Not sure- I understand your post- I know plenty of people, who are not famous, who have ballooned up one year and been back down the next. I also knew tons of people in school who changed their hairstyle multiple times in 4 years.  Look at other rock stars-David Bowie, John Lennon, etc.  It seems fair to say that Brian has put on weight and taken it off since 1964 multiple times- and yes changed his hair a few times

It's not the style of his hair, it's the color transistor was talking about. It did go from dark to lighter when he went thought changes in his life. He never died it ( i dont belive) it just turned a different color, maybe from staying indoors for so long at a time, when he got better his hair went back to dark brown.

Did Brian completely shave his head in early 1977? I've seen the crew-cut pictures, but didn't know if that was at it's shortest length.

I saw Brian up close at a 1991 book signing. A close view of his hair showed numerous shades/highlights, including some gray roots at his part.

Brian has dyed his hair at various times, including getting highlight jobs.  I also went to a '91 booksigning, and he had light blond streaks in the front of his hair.  In the "Theremin" documentary, his hair is dyed solid blond.   As for the hair length thing, there's a bit in Peter Ames Carlin book that Brian shaved his hair off in a fit of guilt after striking Carnie.  That might have corresponded with the time that his hair was very short, maybe growing out.

Maybe, but you would think his hair would be lighter in 1976 then it was. I don't know, I suppose hair color can change naturally at times. But I don't think there is another period in his life other then the mid 80s where his hair looked so light brown.

Ok, I have seen some late seventies pictures of Brian  with pretty much the same hair and beard length of 83 or 84. But somehow he still looks quite different to me.

I don't think he dyed his hair until after the 70's, his hair went lighter in the early 80's, if he dyed it at that time at all. I'm sure in the late 80's or early 90's he changed it himself.

I'm just glad he's letting it gray naturally now. It was a little too dark in the mid-90s.

I never knew he hit one of his kids. I figured he wouldn't do that after what he went though with murry. I just got catch a wave and will start reading tomorrow.
