The Beach Boys - Beach Boys' Party! Uncovered and Unplugged CD or CD-R

I've noticed that all copies of this CD set on ebay seem to be CD-R's instead of CDs. Does anyone know if this release was out at some point as a regular CD? Japan?

It was released as regular CDs.

Not sure where you're located, but in the US this 2-CD set is on Amazon for under $15. Stuff from Amazon (barring occasional bizarre mix-ups) is legit from actual legit distributors. You should presumably be able to get a non-CD-R copy from Amazon.

Some things do shift to recordable media as "MOD" releases through Amazon, but this one doesn't appear to be one of those.

Looking at the Amazon copies of the CD I continue to be confused a bit. same second market seller selling on Amazon as ebay. states it is a CD but if you look on the extended notes (info) on any of the ebay ads ( not present on the amazon ads) it adds these words

Why not buy it from different seller on Amazon? If you want to make sure, I'm pretty sure you can ask them about it by clicking seller's name -> "Ask A Question".

Also, I'm pretty sure the album was never issued on CD-R. My guess is it's just mislabeled, or they are selling bootleg CD-R (...but what's the point?)

I remember that when it was released, it often appeared in the Collector's Choice music magazine. I wonder if their copy is silver pressed? They do have a website...

If you're on Amazon.com, just order it directly from *Amazon*; there are copies "Shipped and Sold by Amazon.com." Not sure why you'd go out of your way to purchase from a third party seller (and the same one you're suspicious of from eBay no less) on Amazon when Amazon itself has brand spanking new copies for under $15.

simple economics for me... from Amazon.com to me (in Canada) $31.00
from Amazon.ca to me (via rarewaves,ca, only option given by amazon.ca) $18.00

we'll see if that CDR statement is incorrect, I have dealt with rarewaves before both via Amazon and eBay, and have found them to be reputable.
