Mike & Bruce TLGIOK
Unfortunately they shortened the two breaks. I always loved them
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NypM26aQArY&feature=related

Still great , They did these on the 2008 UK tour and thought it rather strange that Mike didnt sing his lead parts on Wendy (Mind you it is rather high) so Bruce did them , but good to see Scott put the cough in during the organ solo :-)

Man this is nuts.  Check out this Brian interview during the back half of the clip.  Not sure if this was posted before.  He really is talking here, not just one sentence answers.  He is on fire.  Imagine Brian talking like that today.  Wait for the last part of the clip at about 10:07.   I laughed my ass off.

Was this interview conducted during the Landy era?  If so, speed could be partly responsible for Brian's demeanor and some of his crazy statements.

That was what I said when I found it. I didn't know that the original backing track was circulating. This was later reworked as a Christmas song for the unreleased 1977-78 Christmas album.

Not the Beach Boys and not that much related but just to see how far the surf-craze reached in the early 60s:

Has anyone seen this Landy-era interview of Brian by the Rock & Roll Chef?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S89dRcc4DwI

Brian is very comfortable, lucid, and in a great mood.  He talks about his Surfer Chicken recipe, his favorite restaurants in L.A., his daughters' success in Wilson Phillips, and his upcoming album (Sweet Insanity, but they don't mention the title). Also, about halfway through it, Brian does a quick rendition of Smart Girls, much to the delight of the studio audience.  Smiley

This is Phil Spector's take on the tune of "Don't Hurt My Little Sister" (same melodies and chords anyway, the lyrics are completely different), which Brian had originally wrote for Phil before turning it into a BB tune:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6qryAGO4jI&feature=related

Here's the instrumental: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo_S8XNtCZY

Brian won this production war, for what's it worth, although it probably helped that he wrote the song.

He seems very surprised that the audience knows the words. It never ceases to amaze me how the greatest, most brilliant artist's genuinely have no clue how much they mean to people.

I still don't know what's up with the expression Brian gives during the instrumental break with the claws and everything...puzzles me. Any takers?

Absolutely love listening to the English crowd singing along, even contributing to the instrumental parts!

He's missing a couple of parts (the marimba at the end of the verse that plays the notes of "though it's hard I try not to look at my wind chimes" as well as a guitar at the last instrumental part (before the last do-do-doyou-doyou's hit)

All i know is that it's from T In The Park (in Scotland), and that the BBC film(ed) it every year. I think I remember reading he did a 'hello Cleveland!!' at the show, but I threw away my old NME's so couldn't tell you.
