Does anyone know about the Brian Wilson interview with Pete Fornatale from the spring of '73? Has it been put on youtube as of yet.....does it even exist?

Damn! Brian sounds amazing on Caroline No here!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8sMVR4rcSk

Yes he does! What I really like about the clip are Brian's gestures. Did you notice right after the bridge ("Break my heart...), Brian gestures to Paul Mertens on flute, almost like saying, "Don't go into the flute solo", like he (Brian) was on roll. Also, did you notice Brian making eye contact with Taylor and imitating her percussion movements. He was really into it.
That's probably the best version of the song he's ever done since 1991.

It's one of the things that convinced me he still has it...

A fairly down-to-earth person who once was around the Beach Boys quite a bit "back in the day" once said to me, "the problem with Mike is he always took himself so damn seriously."  Which to me was a pretty illuminating statement.

Funny you say that, because I felt that this performance had a real "Landy-era" vocal quality to it.  I know I'm in the minority, but regardless of the shady Landy treatment and the questionable songs/production, I felt that Brian had a really nice vocal sound cira "Sweet Insanity."  Very great video...glad it was posted or else I never would have seen it.  As previously mentioned, the moment when he mimics Taylor's percussion is priceless.  Seeing him groovin' to the song, bathed in a mysterious blue glow: magic.  It's moments like these that remind me why I'm still a Brian Wilson fan.

I know exactly what you mean. It's that slightly high pitch, almost "whisper" sound, like on The Warmth of The Sun from IJWMFTT. Another good example is the original Gettin' Over My Head from the Paley sessions.

Very cool indeed!  Love seeing Al do the "Baby baby baby..." section at the end.  Mike's dorky finger snapping is amazing too.  Grin Great post!

Always "interesting" to see. I wonder btw why Mitch should sing background for Mike on "Don't worry baby". He doesn't even do the lead.... Cheesy

Anyone wanna explain this one to me? I've tried googling it but am not coming up with much other than vague mentions like the text in here.
