If you had the chance to be apart of any band or vocal group from either now or back then, which would it be?  Razz

I know this is a fun exercise, and I remember doing this kind of thing when I was a teenager all the time: what band to join, what musicians to combine into a band, etc.

But how about a practical answer? None. Because joining a band would change the chemistry, which is a fragile, fragile thing in a band. Considering how few bands pull off combining talent and chemistry to be great, and considering what I know my personality to be, I'd say the only band I should join is one I hate, not one I love. Join a band you love and odds are you won't love it as much as a listener (though being invested in it, you may love it more from some other perspective). Even if you don't ruin it, you'd change it, and it seems awfully unlikely you'd change it for the better.

Going off what Luther said, I can't think of a band I'd like to join where it'd change for the better.

If I could be apart of any band, where I could just play along on stage, it would have to be Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band (especially in the late 80s-early 90s). To be apart of that energy while playing chords to hits like Glory Days or Hungry Heart - would be a dream come true.

God must’ve smiled the day Brian Wilson was born!

"ragegasm" - /rāj • ga-zəm/ : a logical mental response produced when your favorite band becomes remotely associated with the bro-country genre.

Ever want to hear some Beach Boys songs mashed up together like The Beatles' 'LOVE' album? Check out my mix!

I'd love to be a part of the Brian Wilson band. I have skills on a number of different instruments, and if I were to develop them to the point that I could be part of recreating Brian's music on stage, that would be amazing.
I'd also love to be a member of a touring version of ELO, playing guitar or something. Those songs never get old to me.

My dream job actually is being a member of a backing band for a famous musician. Imagine being the guy playing the guitar parts to David Bowie songs, or Paul McCartney, or anyone like that.

When I looked at the thread's title, I immediately had 2 ideas - it's either about dream-pop/shoegaze type bands or retrokid introducing us to some obscure group called Dream (Band). Back to the topic, I'd like to be a musician in a jazz orchestra playing cool walking basslines (even though originally I'm not a bass player).

I would love to have been in the Flaming Lips between 1990 and 1997.
