Be With Me is a pretty bad song. The lyrics of the verses have nothing to do with each other and the chorus seems very "tacked on." It's definitely feels like the work of an amateur songwriter. Not as bad as All I Want To Do, though.

Also, I Went To Sleep is gorgeous.

The lyrics aren't too important to me, and Be With Me is such an amazing song. I was blown away by it when I first listened to it!

I like a lot of "raw" music. But from other bands. Whenever I put on a Beach Boys record, I want to hear pretty music.

And it's a pretty basic blues rock song without any particularly great hooks.

So what is it exactly that you can't believe reading?

I like a lot of "raw" music. But from other bands. Whenever I put on a Beach Boys record, I want to hear pretty music.

So what is it exactly that you can't believe reading?

Well, cuz I love that song I thought it was one of Mike's best leads, but we each have our own taste in music and yea and can respect yours  .  But I applaud the guys for not always sticking with the stereotypical surf, car, girl songs.  As artists the fact that they can get away from that  every once in awhile and still make it work is a great thing.   And yea at the end of the day they're known for the "pretty music" and when I think of them that's the first thing I think of too

No, Student Demo Time is an example of trying (and failing) to be cool. But All I Want To Do is cool - and it beats Gun & Roses by two decades with the 'live-sex-on-a-track'. In your face Axl!

The Nearest Faraway Place  -- easy low-hanging fruit.     I love the whole album -- a few songs in it gets much tougher to eliminate any.

And in a strange way, I like Bluebirds precisely because you can 'see the strings'... it sounds like a conscious, and arguably somewhat desperate, attempt to update their sound, and there's something I find poignant in that (if that makes any sense).
Or more simply, I just think the guitar sounds cool.
