Guess what else is being released on August 27th?

Bootleg Series, Vol. 10 "Another Self Portrait" by Bob Dylan.

It will include a few songs from New Morning and Nashville Skyline, but the bulk of the material comes from the demos of Self Portrait. There is a deluxe edition, which will include the full Isle of Wight Festival concert (which the live cuts on Self Portrait originated from) and a remastered Self Portrait. Greil Marcus, ironically/ingeniously, will also being writing liner notes for the set. An excerpt of those notes say that the demos "are arresting," before all the sweetening happened.

Rolling Stone has all the info, with history on the album:
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/bob-dylan-revisits-self-portrait-on-next-edition-of-bootleg-series-20130716

And here's a promo for the album (thanks for finding this, heysaboda):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFdgwMhWcV4&feature=youtu.be

And, if you are so inclined, you can pre-order CD version here from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Another-Self-Portrait-1969-1971-Bootleg/dp/B00DY951RQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1373992407&sr=1-1&keywords=another+self+portrait

And here you can pre-order the vinyl:

Is it just me or does Dylan's new painting for the album look like Brian Wilson kinda?

From what I understand, The Isle of Wight show is pretty rough, but still, it'll be a neat thing to have. Also, if the demo for Wigwam is the same one on the RSD single, then I will really be looking forward to this. Can't stand the original version with those terrible horn overdubs.

I have an old circa early seventies Isle of Wright boot. Sound is really good and I personally like the show but I very much like his late sixties style and voice. Self Portrait and Dylan had some bad stuff but some really good things too.

The Isle of Wight recording is one of the few vinyl boots I have. It's a nice show - no comparison to the 1966 concerts, not that kind of intensity, but Bob with The Band is always a good combination. Some of the best tracks from the show were not included on the original Self Portrait. Very much looking forward to this release.

Good way to describe the show.

Nothing beats Bob Dylan and the band! Cool Guy

Really looking forward to this - the New Morning stuff is some of my favourite Dylan. An alternate When Dogs Run Free?!

One of the songs to be included is "Pretty Saro." It was an outtake from Self Portrait, has never been bootlegged, and is now finally seeing the light of day on Another Self Portrait.
Here's the song with some other information:

15 tracks from this are streaming on the Grauniad website - a shame as it doesn't have a lot of the tracks I wanted to hear, but it sounds pretty good!

After much anxious waiting, the deluxe Bootleg Series, Vol. 10 finally arrived at my house.

Great music and fantastic packaging. I couldn't ask for more.

I can't use the word "awesome" for this set because that word is so overused, but I will say "awe inspiring".

Each of these songs/performances is a little jewel.

Honestly, this is too good to be real.

I am a huge Dylan fan, but this set has knocked my socks off.

To anyone on the fence, if you like "acoustic Bob" or "happy Bob from 1969-70" then GET this RIGHT AWAY!

Once again, Bob left ALL THE GOOD STUFF off his official album!  Why Bob why LOL!

"Pretty Saro" my fave so far.

How much other stuff is Bob STILL holding back LOL?

Buy New Morning.

Then buy this. TBF, the majority of tracks are from the Self Portrait sessions.

I wouldn't say the majority of it is from the Self Portrait sessions. Only 17 of the 35 are.
There's ten New Morning tracks, two Nashville Skyline tracks, one track from The Basement Tapes sessions,  a demo of "When I Paint My Masterpiece," and an unreleased Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 track "Only a Hobo." The rest are live various live Isle of Wight songs, I suppose for those who didn't spring for the deluxe version.

Deluxe version has the complete, live "Isle of Wight" show and a 2013 remaster of Self Portrait.

Why would they put a Basement Tape session here? That was in 1967...

I do believe it was just recently discovered.
I'm fine with the choice. I'd rather have it than not.
