Wow. So finally I get to see that "Mike Come Back to LA" session. So cool. Brian looks totally confident and in charge. Which I gotta admit is surprising, because I thought by and large the MIU trip was not a fun one for him. Although I'm sure this was one of the happier moments for him. I wonder if it was chemically stimulated.

What year was that being shot?

Who's the guy sitting at the drums? Looks like Carl rather than Dennis.

The "MCBTLA" footage was shot at MIU, between 11/7 and 12/4 1977.

Wow, was Mike playing keyboards in that "Mike Come Back to LA" video? Cool.

Great tumblr, Will C! I'm gladly following it now.

Good stuff... coming home from some required evening work to see that people are checking out this thread, and more importantly the new site.  I'm having a fun time with it, there is certainly more to come.  Late here on my end at the moment, but tomorrow I'll keep it rolling.  My motivation is that there are people out there seeing things they've been dying to see or never knew was out there. I am always searching for more.  I know a lot of you know how that is! Smiley

• Shady, I saw your question about the Radiant Radish photos.  I have those saved on my computer, but I have no doubt I originally snagged them off the Smiley Smile Board, right here.  Now, if only I could remember the thread... (hmmm)

• bossaroo, that's so funny! We gotta figure out what's going on in that Heroes and Villains ad.

Great website! That Mike Come Back To LA footage is awesome. Brian seems so relaxed and happy. It was cool to see him and Mike cracking each other up.  Grin

Brian gets embarrassed talking about the creative process and "Goin' On." Great Carl & Brian moment - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mbe6XiW_DE

Is that the same as the "Our Team" video that's been circulating for years (in crappy quality?)  I don't see it to ID it.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

The segment with Carl and Brian (sitting on a log taking a breather on Pfeifer Beach in Big Sur) is from 1980 - "The Making of Keepin' The Summer Alive" documentary, narrated by Ben Fong Torres. That was my favorite part - Brian's talking tongue in cheek and there's a long silence and then Carl busts up laughing and says to Brian, "You're great"!

Ah, OK, yeah, thanks.  That's different than the "Our Team" video from '78.  That's MIU '77.

Err.........err.........oh.  Sorry.  Good thing somebody here read that and corrected me. Otherwise they wouldn't know any difference and would take that statement as fact.

Somebody needs to put that up on Youtube. Or maybe the bad quality prohibits it. Or maybe BRI would prohibit it it. Or maybe......

We're for our team yeah, you'll never lose it, with us you're still number one!

That micro-site is terrific, the "new" stuff is great! I especially liked the "Sunshine" (my fave KTSA track) performance, notwithstanding it's short & lip-synched. Al's song dedication to his wife Lynda was sweet, didn't get what's funny about it, even Al himself did smile. At least I got Brian's joke about "food", though later he corrected himself adding "creative (food)". Gotta love Brian's childlike sense of humor. Didn't know that Carl had been interviewed by Tom Snyder. I've seen only The Wings & Charles Manson interviews with him. Now, for the 3rd time I'm convinced how shallow & cunning his questions are, let alone boring. But Carl - being smart - managed to give a witty remark. I absolutely agree with him, The BBs indeed were as successful as The Beatles back then. The Smiley Smile T-shirt with black letter teeth is cool! Very unusual design. Pictures of Dennis cat's-walking are nice, mostly because of the cat. Footage of Brian & Al is amazing! Of all the combinations (Carl-Al, Mike-Brian, Dennis-Bruce etc.), I like seeing those 2 together the most. Seems as they're thick as thieves.

Some of the familiar things are good to see as well. F.ex., the screenshots of Wilson brothers from Grammy '77, photos from Stack-o-Tracks where all the Boys look hip, Al's rocking image with guitar from 15 BO inside cover or Carl's black-and-white pics taken by Emdeeh at p. 5.

All in all, many thanks to you, Will C.! I've never enjoyed tumblr that much till now. Definitely keep this going on.

I'm of the opposite idea, i.e. M.I.U. was a stable time for Brian plus the album features one of the best vocs by him.

Wow, was Mike playing keyboards in that "Mike Come Back to LA" video? Cool.
Yes, he was & there's nothing really cool about Mike's skills coz he played rudimentary chords, as a beginner.

In the pics of Brian with David Sandler and the ARP synth he simultaneously looks like both the SMiLE-era and 15BO/Love You-era versions of himself.

Yes, his vocals were better. But the man himself has said stuff before that the M.I.U. sessions were not a great time for him, or didn't bring back real good memories, since he wasn't in a good place at the time or something.
