I'm Demis Roussos singing voice fan, been listening to his Greatest Hits CD. It's patchwork but several good songs - "We Shall Dance" (brings sun imagery & it's got best use of female background vocs, dislike them in, f.ex., his popular song "Forever & Ever"), "Someday Somewhere" (joyful & positive), "It's 5 O'Clock" (the early downtempo version isn't as good) & beautiful kinda melancholic "My Reason". Check at free time this singer. He kinda looks like 70s Carl & distant similarity in singing.

I remember him from the band Aphrodite's Child, who recorded "Rain And Tears". I had more of an affinity with fellow band member Vangelis. I see they briefly reconnected in 1982 for work on the music for
Blade Runner.
I'd forgotten that Demis Roussos had died. Great shame.

Aquarian SMiLE--
the

mix for me. Why? It leaves out "Good Vibrations", a stand-alone 45.

I've been wondering whether there's a album or a song that both my internet penpals like and I do believe it's this album (of course, the picture may have something to do with it):
And this is the opening track, "A Taste of Honey". I love Herb's stray dissonance at 1:48!

I love the TJB! They had so many great tunes. Casino Royale was pretty boss.

Yep a really popular album for good reason. Our household had a copy, one of the few albums my parents bought during that time.

Whipped Cream and Other Delights by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.
Extremely popular band in the U.S. during the 60s. Lots of hits.
SBonilla, Casino Royale was one of my favorites from them as well. I have to listen to it again - haven't heard it in decades. I never hear it on the oldies stations - they always play things like A Taste of Honey or Zorba the Greek (great songs)

Apologies for answering, folks--it's just in case SB misses it...
That's "caca de la vaca", with a v. It's Spanish for "cow poop"--in other words, this is nonsense, useless, etc. It's not rude and it's certainly not as strong as BS.
I've been revisiting this Seven Lions Melodic Dubstep Mix. I
love
dubstep--all that over-the-top squelchy stuff. A bit like caca de la vaca I suppose.

This is gorgeous! It's part of the stunning 72-minute dubstep/chillstep mix by Seven Lions that I've been listening to lately:

Saw Argent perform in late '72, the year they hit #5 in the UK with "Hold Your Head Up". Lovely song, interesting memories.

It's a picture of a clothing store sign in La Laguna, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. I was there a few weeks ago.
I have heard records that could be described as 'caca de la vaca.'

I bought the 45 of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" in 1967, as it was not on the emasculated UK version of
Surrealistic Pillow.
I later gave it to a friend when I got rid of my singles five years later. He tells me he still has it.
A more recent friend alerted me to this video of the song last year and particularly to the first time Grace sings "Go ask Alice". You feel you're really missing out if you don't. "White Rabbit" will never sound the same again.

I was looking for songs that mention "The Beach Boys" and instead found this beauty by the Australian band Violet Swells. "The Strange, Strange Design" dates from March 2016:

With my 5000th post coming up next, what better to be listening to now than
The 5000 Spirits or the Layers of the Onion
by The Incredible String Band. Curiously this is an album (and a band) that completely escaped the attentions of my blogger friend on her quest to find obscure psychedelic gems.

Everything about the 1992 Masters of Reality album
Sunrise on the Sufferbus
speaks to me. The music is sensationally good, with Ginger Baker's world-class drumming in the front of the mix and some exceedingly solid guitar and bass work to boot. Great songs too (a not unimportant aspect). The cover illustration speaks to me as well. And the album title is wonderfully evocative.
This is "T.U.S.A.", with the band's British drummer bewailing "the inability of Yanks to make a good cup of tea"! But please, give the entire album a listen--you won't be disappointed.

I'm back on track now with
Forever Changes
after half a century of writing it off as the decline that finished Love's career. How foolish can one man be.
Thank you, that person, for making me see sense at last! I'd noticed others raving about it online but had dug my heels in.
For me, side one of
Da Capo
was their finest (and final) hour. Until last year.

Over at Hoffman there's a Talk Talk topic taking in everything of theirs, including outtakes and B-sides.
They recently reviewed the stunning "After The Flood" from
Laughing Stock,
one of my three favourite tracks by TT, the others being "Inheritance" from
Spirit of Eden
and, from that same album, this one:

Yeah, been listening to some Love too lately.
Forever Changes
still holds up as a masterpiece for me. I used to listen to it obsessively in high school, yet the magic is still there. I've just been getting into
Four Sail
, underrated album. Da Capo rules as well. Still need to hear their debut!
