Neil Young - Like a Hurricane...I think this may be the best song ever.

I've been listening to some of our locals this afternoon. My Brother Woody has a great album he put out in 2007. Go give it a listen. Love "Getting Old Goes with Getting Fat" - He nails the Nilsson sound. "I Only Like Songs With Bops, Oohs and Aahs" - is Beach Boys '67/'68 perfect.
And spent over a hour on SoundCloud playing zachrwolfe, EgoHanger1966 and rab2591 together and alone. We've got some great music right here at this forum.
Right now I have Jobim's Wave album on.

Is it really the song's title? I'm gonna give it a listen, sounds like a very nice tribute to The BBs (harmonies). Speaking of our locals, this is how I think the pairings should be:
rab-Woodstock (I heard that "Ceremony" song & it hit me that they fit together more than if it were Woodstock with Zach or rab with Ego or EoL with rab)
Zach-Ego (the most organic duet imo)
EoL (aka mypetsounds)-Swedish Frog (these 2 have kinda similar writing style, so why not give it a chance?)
But in the end, they're all e-friends.

The Beta Band - Round the Bend
(absolutely great song! I like the voice of the lead singer, it's very kind, also cool electronic noises & nice video with fields & tractor)
Jeffrey Foskett-"Thru My Window"
(shameless IKTAA rip-off but I still think it's fantastic, 2nd to none in Jeff's catalog. Lots of earworms. Then I like his cover of Shoes tune "Your Very Eyes". Not on Youtube, but the original is. utterly beautiful)

I'd post this in a "what are you watching thread", but no such thread exists...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eFopCsrPGM
The full performance (w/introduction by Richard Pryor) of the Jackson 5 on the Motown 25 special. I had only seen the Billie Jean performance before, and I know how much it's lauded and all,but I didn't quite appreciate it that much until I saw it in context, with the Jackson 5 songs beforehand and everything, which just makes it so much cooler. Much more experiential, or whatever it is...

King Crimson - Red. I've been going chronologically through their discography, but this is only the 3rd albums of theirs that I've come to love so far. The debut is still my favourite, I think.

What if you'd post it on
here
? It's a bit different, I know, but so what? And you still kinda said you liked this J5 video.

Oasis - What's The Story Morning Glory. I gotta say, I'm completely dumbfounded by the amount of negative, revisionist reviews this album gets, particularly on Rate Your Music. I think it's still fantastic, one of those records that almost reads like a greatest hits compilation, just like Thriller or Nevermind.

Jan & Dean - The
DRAG CITY/POP SYMPHONY
twofer CD.
DRAG
came out the same time as
LITTLE DEUCE COUPE.
The first Rock & Roll concept albums? (Could "Dead Man's Curve" be the first rock opera?)
POP SYMPHONY
could be considered a vanity project, but all these years later it serves as a calling card for Jan Berry's talents. A nice mood record.

I don't know if it's that revisionist. Some of us disliked them back then. Honestly, I'm more surprised at all the fuss made over them now, but I guess that's the POV of someone who thinks they're overrated, just as you seem to find them underrated. Hope you're enjoying the reissues, though.
