ESQ is great, we're so lucky to have it. But it doesn't often seem to veer into particularly critical territory when it comes to criticizing the members. Occasionally album reviews might have some negative comments, but in terms of presenting "current events" for the band, ESQ usually keeps it pretty non-confrontational, likely because they do have a line to the members of the band to get comments and whatnot. I say all this only to preface the observation that there is an editorial in the new issue discussing the "firing" fiasco of recent months, and it was surprising to see something so controversial actually addressed.

The article still doesn't get into too much nitty gritty, and it does predictably kind of walk the fence in terms of calling all of the members out for their part in this fiasco (which I totally agree with).

I'd like to comment on this soon in my new blog/page (sort of a semi-relaunch of my old "Beach Boys Resource Page" from ages ago), which I've started mentioning in my subject line. If anybody wants to give it a gander, I'd love to be writing it knowing somebody else is reading it!  LOL  All that's there now are some off-the-cuff skeletal reviews of recent DVD's and CD's. http://beachboysopinion.blogspot.com/

Posted some comments on the new issue (specifically the editorial) over on the blog.  http://beachboysopinion.blogspot.com/

It's probably not much that wasn't already hashed out here on the numerous threads on the post-tour debacle. But as I say numerous times, pick up ESQ/get a subscription so we continue to have ESQ issues to talk about!  Smiley

Hey Jude, how come there's nothing in the "About me" section of your blog?  Would be nice to place a name to a face and maybe a little autobiography about the Beach Boys fan/collector, ya know?   Grin

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Another new ESQ issue in my mailbox today ( Don't these ever quit!?!?  )
Carl and Dennis Wilson issue; you can see the cover on the ESQ site:  http://www.esquarterly.com/
In with all the usual interesting articles, I found an ad for a new BBs Photo book that I haven't heard anyone mention, and you can find it here:
http://balsabill.com/
160 Pages of unpublished 1966 BBs on tour photos;       Sounds like it could be really cool, and you don't have to wait til June!!
