I tried the digital Radio 2 via Virgin Media but the preceeding programme sounded awful....heavily compressed and low dynamic range.

Soo....

I am listening to The Beach Boys on FM radio and recording to cassette tape Smiley

Good move! I wish I'd set up the quarter inch R2R!

Hey, did you know they were once voted #1 over The Beatles? It's true.

WHAT WHERE CAN I FIND CONFIRMATION OF THIS OBSCURE FACT
It was a poll taken in 1966 in a British Magazine.

I was going to but my Akai 4000DB has a fault...its not recording or playing from the left channel. Tried to repair it last week but it's in need of more attention than I can give.

Analogue lives in our household. My wife, who isn't an audiophile or hi-fi buff agreed the digital stream was *awful* so good old FM it is.

Just hit the "listen" button

I was so sure that I wouldn't be able to listen to it in Germany. BUT it plays !! "Catch a wave" !!

@mrmoustachioto: I'd be very happy to hear from you anyway about this topic

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

The Boys are sounding pretty good. NO AUTOTUNE, each song coming thick and fast. Got my appetite whetted for Wembley Smiley Smiley Smiley
