1. Only a Northern Song
2. Hey Bulldog
3. The comic book adaptation
4.
The toy submarine (in the original box)
5. Yellow Submarine Songtrack
I have a re-release of the toy of George and comes with the sub, I got it in the early 2000s.....left in the package...not nearly as cool as the original, I'm sure

Well, if it's an exact replica, it doesn't matter. Was it a licensed product or an apple product? Was Corgi the original?

Whenever I watch Yellow Submarine I think it's the funniest film of all time. It just cracks me up so much! I love their entrances.
And... 'There's only one way to go out!' '
'How?'
'SINGING!'
It has also given the world this.

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.

Although my favorite Beatles movie is Magical Mystery Tour, then close 2nd is AHDN, I can certainly say that Yellow Submarine left me impressed after 1st watching. There are many unusual visual effects which are very 60s, yet ahead of its time. As usual, I liked the villains, Blue Meanies. I wanted THEM to win. Though I liked the friendship end. My favorite hero is Jeremy (I prefer to call him that way from all his 4 names. Just because it sounds very cool & stylish). He's very smart, funny & has many talents. Also I felt sorry for him when The Beatles - except for Ringo - were going to leave him.
Need to say, the art workers, drawers of this animated fantasy film etc. did an absolute chef-d'oeuvre! I love that it's filled with colors, very bright and colorful, real eye candy!
Okay, 3 good things of YS imo:
- bizarre & seemingly surreal clip of Eleanor Rigby. It's kind of entertaining, esp. the scene where 2 ladies eat candies unstoppably & they [candies] don't end.
- Blue Meanies, esp. Max. Funny that Chief Meanie has yellow teeth and the rest, including Max - white.
- the whole episode of meeting with Jeremy.
And, of course, I like most of the dialogues between the characters. E.g. "Yes, Your Blueness!" - "What?! We Meanies take only "no" for an answer! Is that understood, Max?" - "No, Your Blueness!" - "That's better." What a good example of English humor! Wordplay in style of Milligan whom I much admire.
I remember Mike Myers saying in a Beatles documentary that was on ABC about 10 years back or say that he used to cry when they left Jeremy and Nowhere Man is being sung.

It's all too much - 2009 stereo remix/remastered - Incredible song and audio experience. One of my top 10 Beatles songs.
The 09-09-2009 Beatles album releases were not remixes, but remasters. The 1987 CDs were mastered with the equipment available at the time, but the technology improved significantly by the late 2000's. The engineers at Abbey Road first did a blind audition of several analog-to-digital transfer machines, selecting the one they thought sounded the best. The original mono and stereo album master tapes were then transferred to digital at 24-bit 192 kHz. They worked on the recordings in the lab, adding some EQ here and there and removing imperfections like microphone pops or static. "Performance related imperfections", such as the squeaky chair at the end of A Day In The Life, were left alone. Some limiting was also added, but to the stereo masters only. I think they did a fantastic job.
There is a 24-bit 44.1 kHz release of the stereo albums available - it was released on a USB stick that had a green apple enclosure.
The "Yellow Submarine Songtrack" CD in the late 90's was a complete re-mix from the multitracks. A remix was necessary, so the DVD could have a 5.1 surround sound soundtrack. I also like this re-mix a lot, but it was very controversial at the time, as many critics felt that the original sound of these Beatles recordings had been altered too significantly.
As this is a Beach Boys board and not a Beatles board, I will say something about the Beach Boys. I think the engineers did a fantastic job with the stereo and 5.1 re-mixes of Pet Sounds; somehow, by some miracle, they provided a great re-mix that sounded true to the original mono.

What's good about it, I guess, is that it made me a rock fan for life. The Yellow Submarine film was first broadcast on American TV in 1972, when I was 11 years old. I had a little Sears cassette recorder, and I taped the movie audio, holding the recorder up to the speaker of the TV. I must have listened to the tape for hours and hours. This is when I became a Beatles fan and a rock music fan.
Back when the film was released on DVD in the late 90's, I played the film for my kids, who were age 6 and 3 at the time. They loved it and became lifelong Beatles fans as well (although not as much as dad).

Oh, I completely forgot about The Rutles. Good copy of original animated film! No less colorful & strange than Yellow Submarine. And btw, I liked this Ringo more than original's.
You mean Barry Wom?
Don't forget that Stig played drums with our own Garcons de la Plage on CATP and Holland!

Oh Yellow Submarine Sandwich!...I just got their LP a couple months ago...I love the liner notes/pics. Plus, the plug from "Bannana Records" for the California Boys.
My favorite song has gotta be Ouch! or Piggy in the Middle or Let's Be Natural

I trust you expertise.. it sounds like the 09 release was a remix as well. Nevertheless the 09 release sounds fabulous on the right system. It's like a big soundscape world. Was the original YS released in stereo?

The Yellow Submarine Soundtrack was in stereo, expect for Only A Northern Song. The movies sound mix was in Mono as with most Animated film's during the 60's

3. Animated tributes on The Simpsons and Futurama
2. Hey Bulldog and It's All Too Much
1." Argentina?"
Also, according to Eric Idle, some of the original Yellow Submarine animators made the Cheese and Onions sequence and he said "They loved being payed to make fun of themselves."
