Wow. Since the album came out it's basically stayed in my car until today. A friend of mine who is a casual BB fan asked me to burn a copy of the new album because he's really broke. Anyway, I put it into my computer and ripped it to iTunes. Using expensive studio headphones I listened to the entire album, hearing things I didn't notice in the car. Hell, I was even listening to things I've already heard but it was fresh and intimate, given the different situations. I say relaxing and really honing in on all the sounds is the best way to listen to it. The suite is almost addicting to listen to now. My buddy doesn't know what he's in for.

What is your favorite way to listen to TWGMTR?

Someone, somewhere said it made all the difference when he listened through headphones.  Funny I had Al's album sitting around for a while, and had given it a few casual listens.  Then one day I put on the headphones and listened to it from start to finish..totally blew me away.

As for TWGMTR, I have been mainly listening to it in the car.  It gets better and better.  At first I thought it started and ended strong with a bit of a sag in the middle.  That gap has closed with repeated listens, and some of the songs I wasn't crazy about to start with (Shelter, Biil and Sue), I quite enjoy now.

I would listen it to the car if it would actually play.  I get an odd ticking on it for some reason.  Works fine at home through great headphones though, so I'll stick with that as the definitive way to listen to it for the moment. Cool Guy

Definitely headphones. When I first bought the album, I listened to it casually with speakers. The sound quality was nothing special although it does have that compressed sound which I eventually ignored. Then I listened to it through headphones and immediately noticed a difference in sound quality. The sound was more fuller and less compressed (still is, but not as much). I'm no audiophile but I'm a stickler for high quality sound when it comes to music.

The car listen is indeed a great experience! Especially if you're anywhere like the professor over here. The wood's of PA do the album good for me. Still, the things I'm still hearing after two days of listening through headphones are miraculous! I love this album.

I have listened in the car, and with headphones, but nothing beats hearing the album played on my home system, through my big old speakers.

Big speakers at home, or headphones on the beach.

I play it mostly in the car, but man, it sounds great on my home audio system. Voted "Big Speakers".

Sometimes I put one Earbud in and do the "Brian Wilson" experience. Only for mono recordings of course.

As with all BB Stuff I listen mostly through headphones, I find I don't hear everything through my speakers.
Maybe I need better speakers or a hearing test.
