Friends of Al on Facebook would have now been notified of a release party for the CD on Tuesday March 20th at The Roxy - Really wish I lived over the pond

Is it open to the public?  I might wander over if it is.

Not too sure that the info is accurate , would be great though........

I did check the Roxy site , and yesterday it stated Al Jardine and Friends , but had an 'additional info' bubble on the site listing all the guests who are on the album and thus not a conclusive list of people who are going to appear at the show - Strangely it appears that the bubble is no longer on the website

Wouldn't be surprised if some other BBs showed, given that they'll be working closely right now and it'd be a sociable thing to do. But wouldn't go by anything posted on the Bloo…

People show up on the bloo every now and again asking daft questions like that, they usually post once or twice then you never hear from them again. Last week we had a guy asking about dogs dragging a$$! It attracts some strange characters I must say  LOL

Bobby Figueroa posted that it's the Endless Summer Band playing, but that doesn't rule out any special guests.

Wish I could be there, but obligations on the East Coast are keeping me here.

A new mention of "Waves of Love" that suggests it might, in different form, appear on both new albums... as well as a teaser that "notable VIP guests" will attend the release party.

Good show tonight, although the "VIP" guests were perhaps a little disappointing. Marilyn  & Ginger  joined  Al's band  for an encore  of "Surfin' USA" & "Fun, Fun, Fun".  I'm probably missing somebody, but also on stage at the end were John Cowsill & Tim Bonhomme from Mike's band, Justyn Wilson, Dennis' son Carl, and John Stamos. When Al sang "Postcard", he mentioned he had hoped to have Glen Campbell on stage, but he  had his own "gig" tonight in Florida.

No mention at all of the upcoming tour, & just a few references to the Beach Boys. The most interesting to me...
After the group sang "Don't Fight The Sea", Al said some government agency (he couldn't remember which) is using the song in some sort of video, & that tomorrow "my friends" the Beach Boys would be filming their part.

A somewhat shorter ( just under 90 minutes) set list from the last time I saw Al in September, 2010, but some very interesting choices. Matt did a dynamite "Wild Honey", Al led "Heroes & Villains", Billy & Bobby took
"Sail On, Sailor". The most unusual... " Lookin' At Tomorrow". I don't recall ever hearing any of the groups taking a stab at that one. No thank yous to the KT, either.

Lots of autographed CDs & 45s were given away, & those who didn't win anything could get an unsigned 45 of Don't Fight..." &, I didn't look at the flip side but I think it was the a capella "Friends".

Very enthusiastic crowd which I would guess was close to the 500 capacity.

That jass festivol down south probably paid a hefty sum to the band for them to perform their first show there.

This was such a fun show!  Probably in my top 5 of all time!  Waves of Love was supposed to be in the encore, but was cut from the setlist.  Great time, just got back after a long drive.  I was about 8 feet away from Al; it pays to arrive early!  Highlights of the 17-song setlist for me: California Saga, Heroes And Villains, Sail On Sailor, Lookin At Tomorrow (first time hearing that live, though I know he's done it before) and Wild Honey.  The show opened with "You're So Good To Me" and was the first show I've been to where "California Girls" wasn't performed...  While outside in the will call line, I happened to be right in front of the door, and heard the rehearsals for Postcard From California, Wild Honey, Sail On Sailor, California Saga, You're So Good To Me, possibly others I can't remember.  The vibe in the room was very upbeat and positive!  Marilyn Wilson-Rutherford, Ginger Blake, John Stamos, John Cowsill, Tim Bonhomme, Justyn Wilson, Carl B. Wilson, and others joined for the encore!

A great show...very much a family reunion vibe in the room.  Any BB fan would have recognized how special it was to have everyone there.  Al sounded fantastic...vibrant and full of energy.  Great to hear his guitar work up close.  I was beyond thrilled to hear "Looking At Tomorrow"...so great.  Could've needed more of a push with the backing vocals and music but overall a great rendition.  I told Al how great it was to hear it and he was pleased by the compliment, saying "Oh yeah?!  We've haven't done that one in a while."  After the song he mentioned how fitting the song was considering the current events going on right now with the economy.  I hope it makes it into the Celebration Reunion shows.

I took a picture with Marilyn before the show--she was very nice; also chatted with Justyn Wilson later, very very personable guy.  I spoke to John Cowsill briefly.  I told him how he nailed the drums on the recent "Do It Again" remake.  He' said that Brian giving him the "ok" sign during that session was the highlight of the day for him.  I asked how the newly-ish formed band is geling so far and he's mentioned that he hasn't played with them yet besides for the one Grammy performance.  Nelson Bragg was also in attendance and didn't have a ticket for the show when he arrived earlier that afternoon.  He eventually got in ok.

Here's some pics I took.  The videos are currently being uploaded so I'll post the links once they're up.

Agree, it was a great time.  Was at the front as well, Eric, on the side between Al and Billy Hinsche.  Wish I could have exchanged hellos with a fellow Smiler. By the way, with all the negativity surrounding Stamos, I can at least confirm he's handwasher in the men's room...
