Good to know Stamos washes his hands after handling his drumsticks, Southbay.

Surprised Diane Rovell wasn't there with Marilyn and Ginger. Hope she's doing OK.

Looking forward to seeing Al on the 50th tour! I'm sure he'll take the lead on at least 3 or 4 of those songs he played last night.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Glad to hear everyone had a good time at Al's show -- wish I could have been there.

Matt J. does a killer version of "Wild Honey."  Smiley

And to chime in on another question we were discussing from awhile back, Matt handled the lead on WIBN, not Al.

I was there, fun time, Al's voice sounds great. Nice to see so much of the 'family' and real family together; like Carl's son, Justin?  I think I saw 1 of Dennis's too?

"Justyn," yes. And Carl B.

I haven't gotten through all the videos, but I'd love to see those guys perform. The only thing I've really heard by them is that In Bloom song that was on that one movie soundtrack.

Marilyn Wilson-Rutherford, Ginger Blake, John Stamos, John Cowsill, Tim Bonhomme, Justyn Wilson, Carl B. Wilson, and others joined for the encore!

I see that along with Hinsche and Figueroa, ol' Steady Eddie Carter was on guitar and backgrounds.  Harkens back to the good old days!

Glad to see Al going back to more of a setlist like he had when he first started touring solo! It would be GREAT to hear him in You're So Good To Me in the reunion tour (maybe alternating verses with Brian) and the same with Heroes.

If I do go to the Beach Boys show, I look forward to seeing Al the most.  He's the secret sauce.  I loved seeing him with Brian a few years ago and he's in the best shape of the main three.

 Cool Guy
This was such a fun show!  Probably in my top 5 of all time!  Waves of Love was supposed to be in the encore, but was cut from the setlist.  Great time, just got back after a long drive.  I was about 8 feet away from Al; it pays to arrive early!  Highlights of the 17-song setlist for me: California Saga, Heroes And Villains, Sail On Sailor, Lookin At Tomorrow (first time hearing that live, though I know he's done it before) and Wild Honey.  The show opened with "You're So Good To Me" and was the first show I've been to where "California Girls" wasn't performed...  While outside in the will call line, I happened to be right in front of the door, and heard the rehearsals for Postcard From California, Wild Honey, Sail On Sailor, California Saga, You're So Good To Me, possibly others I can't remember.  The vibe in the room was very upbeat and positive!  Marilyn Wilson-Rutherford, Ginger Blake, John Stamos, John Cowsill, Tim Bonhomme, Justyn Wilson, Carl B. Wilson, and others joined for the encore!

Agree, it was a great time.  Was at the front as well, Eric, on the side between Al and Billy Hinsche.  Wish I could have exchanged hellos with a fellow Smiler. By the way, with all the negativity surrounding Stamos, I can at least confirm he's handwasher in the men's room...

Every time I have met John Stamos, he has been nothing but absolutely nice, friendly, and down-to-earth.  He even gave my buddy his drumsticks when he asked for them!

Thats just days before the tour starts. I expect the group will be in serious rehearsal mode in LA. Al may talk some others involved with the tour to appear.

Okay, guess you were right. Thought it was Al on the Las Vegas CD, and wanted to check that by finding my copy but didn't get 'round to that.

Anyway, thanks for the reports, photos and videos from the release party - much appreciated. Sometimes whish I lived in the U.S., for this kind of thing.

Thanks for the videos. Al looks good (more hair than ever ?) and sounds very good. I just hope the rehearsals will have him (and the other guys) know the lyrics better.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Did you video Don't Fight The Sea

Just a couple of minutes. Sometimes you've just got to enjoy the show!

However, here's the full version from an Al show in Arizona in 2010.

Back to the Roxy show, I think this is my last one...

I found one more brief clip among my JPGs. It's about 90 seconds of "Sail On, Sailor". Bobby Fig sings here; as I recall Billy took the lead for the remainder.

Bobby definitely sings it better than Billy.

Jardine in fine voice (as always; bring on that reunion tour!), and good performances in general. Thanks!

Without wanting to disrespect Al (coz he's great), i aint going to rush out and buy his cd if he can't even be bothered writing an album's worth of new material. I mean, i've already got California Feelin, Honkin Down The Highway, etc. I mean... what's the point in redoing 'em? Other than a lack of quality new material. This - and the groups reimagining of Do It Again - are the reasons i've a horrible sicky wicky feeling in my stomach re the forthcoming new album.

In fact, this re-recording of their catalogue is similar to the way in which Hollywood keeps endlessly remaking films that were already perfect to begin with...
