Favorite Break-Up Albums

To lighten the mood I thought I'd share with you all what some of my favorite albums to listen to when I am at my most depressed, self-deprecating, nihilistic, and lonely. After a break-up, or just a bad case of the blues, what are some of the albums you instinctively go to. There are usually stages to my pity parties, and they are as follows:
Initial sadness/Longing for lost one:
In the Wee Small Hours
- Frank Sinatra
Nihilistic and self-deprecating stage:
3rd
- Big Star;
John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band
- John Lennon
Want to screw anything that moves stage:
Pinkerton
- Weezer;
Exile in Guyville
- Liz Phair;
FutureSex/LoveSounds
- Justin Timberlake
Angst:
Enema of the State
- blink-182;
Let It Be
- The Replacements
Healing/Applicable in any stage:
Pet Sounds
(Obviously);
Blood on the Tracks
- Bob Dylan;
Continuum
- John Mayer; Almost anything by Simon & Garfunkel. None of their albums are depressing enough for this particular thing, but I go to many of their songs.
So, have any of your own?

Blink 182 self-titled is a good album, and a good sad break-up album.

In The Wee Small Hours does own this thread in a huge way.
Would also submit,
Initial sadness - Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space - Spiritualized, Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes (see also stage 3). Also, anything weepy by Roy Orbison, Richard Hawley, Nilsson Sings Newman (an album that suits any mood, natch) and of course Stay With Me by Lorraine Ellison (otherwise known as the greatest breakup song in the history of mankind).
Nihilism - post-punk in varying shapes and forms (The Raincoats debut album is particularly good for this), Marquee Moon, Horses by Patti Smith, Silver Apples, Blood On The Tracks, and country music. Merle Haggard works incredibly well, for some reason. And, obviously, Hank Williams.
The screw anything that moves stage - Hot Buttered Soul, anything by The Hold Steady, mindless electronica of varying stripes, Prince, girl groups, surf music.... anything with lots of kinetic energy, I think
Angst - Bob Dylan. Also, Holland for some reason. I think it's the sound and vibe of production. It just sounds angsty despite not having much of it.
Healing - Soul music, like Smokey Robinson or The Temptations or Stax. In Concert by The Beach Boys. Tin Pan Alley songs.

George Jones - A picture of me without you
You could take so many Jones-records for that matter

I think
Dog Problems
by The Format covers basically all these stages of a break-up and their concomitant emotions rather succinctly in a little under an hour.

whenever i feel sad :/ the first album i start to play to cheer up is:
Rubber Soul (Even though anything by them cheers me up for some reason.)
I usually play pet sounds in the morning before i leave to school
Sometimes I play Pink Floyd's "Animals" & The Who's "Tommy/Quadrophenia" before i go to sleep it's like my goodnight bedtime story that drifts me off before I'm knocked out.
I play "The Doors" before i drink with my buddies or heading to a social gathering.
Village Green Preservation Society by The Kinks is also a great early morning album to listen to before you start your day and also in the shower

Honestly, I'm not even going through a breakup atm (quite the opposite, actually
) but I've been listening to Isaac Hayes records all day and I'm getting the heaviest vibe of this from them. His Walk On By is probably the best version of that song. Same with You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'. I feel a thread coming on....

There is only one break-up album - Watertown by Frank Sinatra. Compared to the emotional devastation of that album, In The Wee Small Hours, Sister Lovers and John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band sound like Sugar Sugar by the Archies.

The Mountain Goats, Get Lonely.
If it doesn't work for you, try it again, but this second time, rent an apartment and make sure the first things you bring to it are your CD player and this CD. Sit on the bare hardwood living room floor in this empty space and listen again. Preferably to "Wild Sage" and "Half Dead." Here are some live versions.
Half Dead:

Wild Sage:

If it still doesn't work, I simply cannot relate to you. We may not be of the same species.
(Also, if you're a pessimistic or vindictive sort, their entire Tallahassee album may give you some satisfaction.)

Same with You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'.
Best version I've ever heard (couldn't find the master take on youtube but you get the idea):

Haha. It's not actually a reference to the band, as I started using the screen name before I had heard of the band. They are good though.
