All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.

This is a segment of The Real Beach Boy documentary that I co-produced for BBC TV in 2010 and it really frosts my nuts that it gets cut up and posted entirely uncredited on You Tube. if you get the chance try to watch the complete documentary instead of one segment out of context. And BTW...POB is a f'n great great record IMO...but you all knew that.

Where's the whole thing? Don't think us U.S. types have seen it, have we? Or was/is it on the net since the Legacy set was released?

@JonStebbins - The Real Beach Boy is my favorite documentary EVER and thank you so much for having a big hand in it. It just burns my ass that it's not available on DVD - I would be buying copies of that to give away.
@Newguy - definitely watch the entire documentary. And give POB another chance. Think of the vast Pacific Ocean and every lost love/lost-soul you've come across when listening to it. It's one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

Talk about going "uncredited", Jon; how do you think I feel, with every frame of film that Dennis is in, & every photo in this segment, (excluding the album jacket - and that's only because I pulled my stuff 'cause DW & I were feuding at the time), shot by me, and I very rarely receive credited for it!
However, it still fills me with pride, credit or not, especially because Dennis & I threw that whole film shoot together in about 48 hours... As soon as he decided to use The Double Rock Baptist Choir, he asked me to get a crew together & shoot a music video for "The River Song". Shot that all in a couple of hours, with one camera, with lights & a soundman racing with me between the control room & the studio. Next morning Dennis & I alone lugged the camera & Nagra up the beach from his house in Malibu he shared with Karen, & shot the stuff where he speaks in the camera, and later that day I shot he & Karen departing LAX; (outtake footage never seen until this documentary!)
I relish the chance for anybody to see
any
of this stuff, and mainly to get new people exposed to the music of Dennis Wilson... (And by the way, if you haven't seen the full documentary - Jon is absolutely right, you should! It's available in 6 parts right here on YouTube:

Afraid it seems to be fact of life that any media product gets this treatment Jon.
I'd much rather have an official physical DVD or Blu-Ray of this documentary but that hasn't happened. Fans are bound to hunger for stuff like this and if it isn't available via the proper channels, they're gonna get it any way they can.

It pains me to think that the Beach Boys took the endless summer/ 15 big ones cash-in route instead of Dennis' POB material. POB is the real Beach Boys album of the late 1970s along with Love You. Another thing, why didn't anybody rewrite the lyrics for "love you" to polish Brian's ideas?

If this is a response to me with the thought in mind i somehow disapprove of our documentary being available on You Tube that is not the case. I just hate it when a piece of it is clipped and then re-posted with (apparently) no knowledge or mention of the source...as was done in the post that originated this thread. The full doc. has been on You Tube in six parts for going on two years now and I'm fine with that. I want as many people to see it as possible. As you said there has been no DVD release, purely because of the expensive clearance issues, which we have made strides in overcoming but time marches on. Meanwhile the doc. has successfully aired on BBC TV six times over the last two years, and was nominated for a Royal Television Award for best doc. in the Northern Region, didn't win, but made us feel good to get that kind of acknowledgment.

Ghost was doing drugs to the point where he was posting non-stop on this board and saying psycho things due to his brain being fried. Your thankfully not doing that.

Indeed. He would ponder philosophical questions dealing with consciousness and try to relate those questions with the music of The Beach Boys....ALL THE TIME.
Half of his posts actually made sense. The other half we either funny or incredibly offensive. I didn't mind him, but then I was on vacation when he pissed off the majority of the board with a thread about the possible homosexual tendencies of The Beach Boys (i believe this was the case).
Anywho, we enjoy your threads/posts Newguy - but some of your posts just don't make sense...but then neither do mine, so it's whatev I guess.
