Based on all of Fishmonks posts on this board which so vehemently support Phil Cohen, I've often wondered if he's a family member of Cohen's or at least a close personal friend of his. Fishmonk's a damn good friend to have if you're in the dog house, eh?

Thanks to all who favored my reinstatement. Obviously, my prediction that the box set wouldn't be released was(fortunately) incorrect, but the five months of silence from Capitol caused me to worry, particularly because of the less than friendly relations between Brian, Mike & Al....not to mention past history(I.E. the 18 month postponement of the "Pet Sounds Sessions" box). I just wish that Capitol hadn't put us through five months of worry. It was a stressful bummer.

Poor Phil... banned from 3 forums just for sharing his opinion! That ain't right! He is an inspiration to us all. Maybe one day the moderators here will allow the rest of us to express differing opinions.

The issue is not so much the moderators allowing people to express differing opinions, rather, it is more to do with the fact that the general membership finds themselves more in disagreement over the "wrong" opinion. I receive PMs and emails left and right from people who want member X banned for any number of reasons that basically boil down to "I think he's wrong". You want to be able to express YOUR opinion but if someone else doesn't agree with your own opinion, then it's ok to throw him/her under the bus. A lot of the double standards among the membership here border on fascism; we're talking beyond mere hypocrisy. This includes the double standards of several people who know a thing or two.

However, we mods are often stuck with a situation in which a certain poster posts sh*t that a sizable amount (but neither a plurality nor majority) of posters believe is worthy of a ban. Others don't much care. However, if the folks who want the member banned don't get their way, they usually leave or start trolling the forum themselves. It's a vicious circle. And don't get the mods started on what happens when the mods have opinions the membership dislike...

I do believe that a lot of folks on here would benefit from a break from the internet for a while. As I've stated so many times before, we have discussions here. They get heated. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Grow thicker skins. If you're that worried about what someone posting on the internet from hundreds of miles away thinks of your opinion, do us all a favor and get off of the internet. You'll do yourself a lot of good in the process.

I'm glad to read such an honest response, as it genuinely worries me that someone gets banned for an opinion, and is hounded off by a minority whilst a silent majority do nothing. This is nothing to do with the internet, more a sad reflection of human nature. Glad to hear you don't condone this.
