So i would think that the audio player on that FB page is going to start filling up with more and more tracks as the weeks go bye, aye?
Who can say ? Not me, that's for sure...

I can't get the audio player to work on my iPad. I press to play and the two listed files disappear.

All other considerations aside... just listen to the pristine sound quality of the mono take.

All other considerations aside... just listen to the pristine sound quality of the mono take. ALL of the mono mixes we've heard so far sound amazing ... it's the kind of mono that makes people forget they're "missing" stereo panning. So deep and clear.

Absolutely stunning. This sounds exactly as Brian would've imagined it.
One quick question though, I thought the "fade" wasn't exclusive to vega-tables (as well as the bop bop bop section before it.)

Good point - as the story has been told on this board, at David Leaf's suggestion, the fade was only tacked onto the end of the GV box set version of "Vega-Tables" to get more Smile music on there without having to pay further royalties. I might be remembering incorrectly, but I thought that the evidence at the time pointed to it being originally recorded for "Wonderful." However, given that the aim of Mark and Alan seems to be historical accuracy whenever possible, perhaps new evidence has been discovered that actually links this piece to Vega-Tables. I'd like to think they wouldn't have included it otherwise.

Wow, this is perfect. I didn't think I could be any more excited for this release, but I was very wrong. I admire the people who have the willpower to avoid this thread. It must really make their hearts sink when they see it jump a few pages. If you're having problems hearing it on Facebook, I think I can help!

I think it's pretty remarkable to consider that they could have so easily replicated the exact structure of BWPS here, yet there are so many left turns and the track runs much longer.
Just listen to this back to back with the BWPS version. I think this set will rightfully put BWPS in its place. There is no comparison to the Beach Boys, not even close. Brian Wilson at the top of his game, the most amazing vocal blend in peak form, the production, those musicians. Who in the world neighs like horses IN HARMONY and makes it sounds so beautiful? Neighing/laughing in harmony with the chord changes, that is. There is 4 line counterpoint in the fade. Brian sounds insane and absolutely amazing in the weird whining falsetto. The fade is one of the most glorious bits of music even though their singing is so frenetic and charged that it's slightly off key, a rarity for them.

I guess outside of Our Prayer, Wind Chimes, and Surf's Up, we have the most complete of the Disc 1 songs now, right?
