I did my best to narrow down all the questions from this thread (http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,10622.0.html) into something manageable. This involved editing similar questions together and omitting others. My apologies for any choices that offend.

… it only lets you vote for one choice… a fault with the system (unless we all get one vote and  it's the top ten which win via that style…)

If you want (or in this case: if John wants it), you can edit the poll and change the maximum number of votes. But I'll leave that up to John.

32 questions (!) and no mention of 1966 CITFOTM lyrics or the fabled Surf's Up "second movement"? Some good questions for sure but IMO some of them seem fanciful. For example, why would anyone think "Old Man River" was intended for a revamped Smile?

If someone has the ear of Brian or VDP I hope they don't ask questions like "what does 'over and over the crow cries uncover the cornfield' mean" or "who wrote the handwritten track list" that was given to Capitol"..

You actually can't, as I was sad to see last night. That's only an option for adding a new poll , which is broken on the board. When you add a poll to topic, which is the way you have to do it, there's no multiple voting option.

I see a couple of my questions are getting votes already.

But..........why wasn't my question "Why weren't the 'Cantina' and 'Three Score and Five' sections used in the released version of 'Heroes & Villains'?" included in the poll? Geeeez! That's a good question!

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Jeez Mikie, It's hard enough to decide now, which of your questions to vote for. How many choices can we really handle?

I would bet money that the "three score and five" lyrics weren't used because they became superfluous once the "Sunny down snuff" lyrics replaced them and the "Cantina" bridge pushed the length to longer than three-and-a-half minutes (once the "Bicycle Rider" choruses were integrated) and Brian did not want the single running any longer.

Just a heads up, before anyone calls foul. I altered a couple of the questions in the poll because they were too long to be displayed.

I think you'd win that bet, Roger.

Yeah, the length of the song would obviously be affected (unless 'Cantina' completely replaced 'Bicycle Rider') and it's a matter of taste concerning which lyrics to use (three score and five vs. sunny down snuff).

Maybe I should start a poll about fan's preferences on these alternate lyrics issues.....  Smiley
