Oddly enough, that's the very place where I found it several years back. It still haunts my dreams one in a while.

Yeah I think that's where I heard it for the first time as well.  I'm almost tempted to listen to it again (along with all the probably great stuff that people have posted in here), but it's 1 a.m., I'm alone and would rather not have trouble sleeping tonight.  That's what daylight hours are for I suppose.

One of the more disturbing parts is where a women refers to Jim Jones as "dad". But the part that really f***ed with my head is when you hear the occasional moaning from the people as they are dying, with weird slowed down and reversed music  playing.

Love that one - a lot of his stuff does that for me, such a weird but beautiful vibe.

I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner. Pretty much anything John Frusciante did between 1993 and 1997 puts chills down my back.

Projekt Misanthropia by Stalaggh, from the Netherlands, 2007. Noise elevated to the level of artful brutality. This will separate the men from the boys, just like the Jonestown Death Tape or Hamburger Lady.

I just heard the freakiest, most disturbingly f***ed up thing I've ever heard. The audio tape of the exorcism of anneliese michel. It's on YouTube if you're brave enough to find it. There are various versions of it, but I think the full recording is about an hour long.

"Ave Satanas III" by Morke, from Germany. 1995. The first band to identify as "NS black metal".

I am not posting this as a way of sharing personal views (I wholeheartedly disagree with the views of this band) but merely to add content to the thread. And content it is.

Another very weird video is Suicide Mouse. The audio track with it is also quite spooky.

I'd like to take this thread in s slightly different direction. Right now I'm looking for songs with a "twist" ending. Songs that when they end, you're left with kind of a "whoa!" reaction. Or, a song whose lyrics leave you kind of...empty, I guess. Lucy Jordon by Dr Hook and The Medicine Show is a good example, I guess.

Wow.  Shocked Yeah, that's exactly what I'm looking for.  Grin Does anybody else have any suggestions? I guess Lola by The Kinks would count. I'd Love Just Once To See You is another one. But those two are "humorous", rather than "shocking".

This is BY FAR the most bizarre thing I've ever heard, especially the second song.

Riz Ortolani's theme from Cannibal Holocaust. Not so much disturbing as it is nauseating. Best seen in context with the film but it can stand on its own.

That film rules! I love how they often use the gentle music over some of the most violent and gruesome parts of the film. Funny how it gets singled out for animal cruelty yet nobody ever complains about "Walkabout". One rule for an art flick, another rule for an exploitation movie.

Ehhh, not necessarily. Apocalypse Now, Andrei Rublev, and Maîtresse are three art movies that come to mind that found some trouble over segments with animal violence. Granted, the latter two were victims of more scrutiny, mainly because they weren't American films and the criticisms came largely from Americans (although Maîtresse was severely cut in the UK and not the USA).

It should be noted that Andrei Rublev is probably one of the two or three best movies to come out of the former Soviet Union.

I don't really get how this is "nauseating". But then again, I've never seen the movie. I thought it was a really good song.
