I'm putting together a Wilson/Paley Session -- BB Reunion timeline, and I need some info on Andy Paley I am missing:

1) I need to know what he said in an ESQ interview that upset the Wilson camp.
2) I need to know what Melinda posted about Paley on the BW message board.

I believe Andy took more credit for the tunes than he might have actually contributed, which didn't sit too well with Melinda. This was sometime around 2002.

Don't think it was in ESQ. Think it was in an interview with the now-defunct "Pet Sounds" website in '99 or so. The webmaster of that site, Mike DeMartin, was shortly hired away to do the main BW site.

Oh, a copy of the interview with Sean O'Hagan from the UNCANNY site would be groovy, too.  I think it's the one that describes Bruce's involvement in the project, and Mike's comments to Sean.

The real reason Paley was excised from the BW camp can't be talked about publically, so take it all with a grain of salt.

I don't mean to tease anybody!
It's just to let you know that if the reasons given seem phony, it's because they are.
And I can't remotely say on the board what the real story is, because I promised not to say.
Sorry for the confusion.

It can't be talked about publicly, but someone shared the true story with Ian.  Where's the justice?

I don't think he can do that. Besides, the truth eventually comes out anyway. Just wait a few years, and somebody will probably say something in an interview.

I actually have a confession to make. I knew about the BWPS issue back in 2002, at least six months before the official announcement. The first edition of the tracklist leaked out too. It ALL comes out eventually.

Feel free to take my conversation to PMs, if by that you mean sending me hordes of unbooted material.

I knew about...uh, the new Weezer website before it actually changed over for the public...  I couldn't tell anybody.  It was tough.  That's my brush with cloaks and daggers.

Well I don't know anything about anything. Never did, and never will. Damnit. I guess I'm dumb (but I don't care).

I guess I'll pass the time waiting for this info to leak by staring at Ian's avatar. It's magic.

Here are my guesses.

1.) Andy is gay and made a pass at Brian.
Alternate 1.) Brian actually had an affair with Andy.

2.) Andy made a pass at Melinda.
Alternate 2.) Melinda actually had an affair with Andy.

3.) Andy is now becoming a woman.

4.) Andy somehow insulted Melinda by doing something or other.

5.) Andy now actually IS Brian Wilson, thanks to extensive plastic surgery. The old Brian lives in a Hollywood retirement home, is 500 pounds and the happiest he's ever been thanks to the all-birthday cake diet.

6.) The Wondermints ritually slaughtered Andy at one of the band getaways.
Alternate 6.) Andy wanted to ritually slaughter the Wondermints.

7.) Andy was unmasked as an agent for Phil Spector, who really WAS interested in stealing Brian's ideas for his upcoming sessions with Starsailor.

8.) Andy Paley is a dick.
Alternate 7.) Brian / Melinda / Darian / Jeff is a dick.
