Very nice to see the insecurities of others about posting on this board, I'm not the only one who feels intimidated here!

The musical and personal knowledge is huge, and it feels like I'm a little minnow about to get eaten up out here.  One wrong move, lol!

As an aside, I love the emoticons on the site.  Just noticed there is even a Bono one.   Cool

Bonnie,

It can get a little tense here sometimes, but don't let it bother you.

Feel free to share opinions or ask questions.

Back in the early 90's Brian told me that his "nah nah nah nah nah" vocals at the end of Forever were not pre-planned. He said the inspiration just suddenly hit him and he started singing that part.
Wow, knowing that it's going to make my next listen of the song much more powerful. Certainly one of the most beautiful things he's ever sung, and it's so simple, even ending slightly too soon.. Smiley
I wish I could have had things like that told to me by Brian back in the early 90s... even if I wasn't born yet  LOL

There's a vocals only version on Hawthorne, CA that confirms your supposition.  Smiley
I don't know how I haven't listened to the 'Hawthorne, CA' compilation either (yet I've heard 'Endless Bummer' of all things)

That sounds like Brian, coming up with and executing the best part of the song from out of nowhere, or rather, somewhere very special.

A funny Beach Boys related anecdote that recently happened to me:
Girl:  Hi, my name's Marcella.
Me:  Nice name.  Y'know The Beach Boys wrote a song about you.  Released in 1972 when they got all progressive.

Smooth...  Cool Guy

those shirts both Brian & Mike're wearing could double as focus test patterns in some technical jurisdictions.  certainly breaks up the visual monotony

Is there a released track of just the backing vocals from "The Trader?" They sound so interesting but are mixed so far down I can't really get a handle on them.

Okay, here's a very insignificant and pointless question.

What does Id say to Mike at 8.33?  It sounds like she says 'Cheat sheet and google'.  Has this woman time travelled by any chance?

You mean behind the verses ?  This is top of my head, mostly, but l'm hearing...

1 "happily completely"

2 "they don't believe our deity" (not a guess, l asked Jack for the purposes of live performance)

Thanks for responding. I'm really interested not in the words, but I didn't get those either, but in the strong kind of Nordic men's choir sound. There are some really big stacked "ohs" going on.

Did Al Jardine contribute anything to the Surfer Girl LP besides bass? Do we know exactly what songs?

A whole lot of dubstep and beat music that is on my gym ipod. Things like "Internet Friends" by Knife Party. On the less fun side, the album of Civil War era songs I have been producing over the last few years.
Oh, and a quick spin thru the best of NPP.

How bout you Bella?

Gregg

Probably most of us have seen photos from this shoot, which looks like to be from 1966. Two questions:

1. Where's Al? (obviously it's not the first time Al missed a photo shoot)

2. More interestingly, who is the sixth guy?
