I was listening to the Back To Mono box again yesterday and the Crystals "All Grown Up" sure sounds like a knock off of Surfin' USA.  I realize Surfin' USA is itself a Chuck Berry knock off, but "All Grown Up" sounds much more Beach Boys.  Anyone know which one came first?  I can't imagine the BBs hearing "All Grown Up" and running home and writing Surfin' USA.  It sounds like old Phil was checking out the BBs.

Back to Surfin USA - I think Brian was influenced by Bobby Rydell's "Kissin' Time" ( "... summer time is kissin' time... USA") as much as he was by  its kissing cousin "Sweet Little Sixteen."
