Whenever I find out a Beach Boys song is in the movie I'm always compelled to want to see it and hopefully catch the tune (I'm probably exaggerating this a bit, but I am excited to hear them in anything).  I noticed I Can Hear Music (and yes it's definitely the BB version) is supposed to be in the Adam Sandler movie "Bedtime Stories" but when I actually went to see it I didn't seem to hear the song.  Supposedly it's in it...any help on where this appeared in the film?  I must have missed it.  Thanks in advance.

How did you hear about it being in the movie?  Did you see a trailer that featured the song?  Sometimes a song will be used in a movie's trailer, but not in the actual movie!

It's on the soundtrack list and after seeing it, it's in the actual end credits.  To my understanding when it's in the credits at the end it means it was in the movie.  I guess my only option would be to watch it again, but I'll probably need to wait a while before I do that.

You would think, but I recall seeing some films where songs were listed in the end credits that did NOT appear in the actual flick.  My guess:  these songs were part of the original "director's cut" but were in scenes that ended up on the proverbial "cutting room floor".  Hope that's not the case this time, as more people need to be exposed to this wonderful Beach Boys cover of a Ronnettes non-hit.

Well thanks for the reply, c-man.  I really think it would have stood if I heard it but maybe I wasn't paying enough attention to it in the background or something (or like you said, that it didn't make the final cut).  If anyone here happens to see the movie be on the lookout (or listen rather) for it. maybe it was just playing in the background of a scene and you didnt notice it?

i saw that one movie with adam sandler and drew barrymore where "wouldnt it be nice" was featured a few times.

the end, where hes on the boat and he puts on the album and wails along to wibn is classic, something all of us have probably done, when the beach boys' buoyant cheerfulness sounds like the saddest thing in the world

Oh yeah forgot about that haha...I wonder if Sandler likes them since he involved them in at least two of his movies.

Yeah that was 50 First Dates.  They used the song quite well in that one.  I actually think that its Drew Barrymore who is into the Beach Boys...the climactic moment of Never Been Kissed features "Don't Worry Baby."

And let's not forget, Drew Barrymore was in the video for "Rock and Roll to the Rescue" when she was 11.

II was well impressed when "River Song" was played in "Marley and Me". Now would that have featured without all the Denny hype last year?  Roll Eyes

Yeah I did notice that one.  It was such a pleasant surprise because I wasn't expecting it at all.

Best part by far of an otherwise insipid and tedious movie.
