So I guess these are the last pictures of beardless Carl.. his sideburns probably just took over his face, though.. they're huge!

He did?  Do you have any pix of him and the band from that period?  Cause I have never seen any clean shaven.

This is back in the 80's when Landy was trying to remake Brian into a "Don Henley-type"

At least that's what I think Landy was going for.

That's what generally happens.

Shaving beards away should be outlawed.

I've got a beard.

I have nightmares about shaving it. I actually wake up feeling my face, hoping that it isn't true.

I've wanted to shave for weeks now, but the more I put it off, the more I know it's going to hurt.. guess I'm growing a beard.

I wish they had taken pictures of at least a few things from every session. Especially the Smiley/Friends era at Brian's place.

I have mental images of them all sitting at a table, eating lunch while discussing how a song should go and what not.

Brian should never grow a beard. Dennis and Carl suited it perfectly. Mike - has he got one these days or not? He looks like a used car salesman either way (actually more to the point, a used-car-song salesman).  Al needs one to prove he can get served in bars.

Whaaaaaaaaat!?! Man, Brian had a killer beard. Look in the Smiley Smile/Wild Honey notes to see that great beard in the ocean. They all had awful beards on the cover of 15 Big Ones. Even Dennis "Mr. Sexy" looked terrible.
