I was just reading about Leonard Cohen, who apparently said this happened to him (at gunpoint). I've also heard reports of guns with the Ramones, John Lennon... anyone know of any more?

He brought the Ramones to his mansion and showed them his gun... then he didn't want them to leave, or something.

He wanted them to practice a chord for an entire day.  Or else that was a separate incident.

The shorter list probably would be of people whom Phil Spector HASN'T threatened ...

you know he shot a girl then lied about it.  just think, it could have been John Lennon or the Ramones who died before their time.

I think it'd be pretty cool to get shot by Phil Spector.

Is there a waiting list?

He stands out from the bunch, that's for sure.

Most producers are known as being friendly, sociable, and able to attract the greatest qualities from their clients. Much like Brian with the track, George Fell Into His French Horn.

But Phil, he just holds a gun to a persons head. There's actually a genuine line of logic behind this technique. See, rather than winning the confidence and enthusiasm by kindness, he just scares the crap out of the person. This gets the heart beat racing, the mind racing, and the need to play exceptionally well inbedded within the client.

He's a nutty fruitcake.  Period.

It's a part of what has fueled his creativity.

He's one of those people where everything's silent or extreme.

Definetly a sick man...and a top notch producer.

I've felt threatened by Phil when I've been recording.  The thought of how wimpy my record is about to sound compared to his is as good as having him point a .45 at my face.
