Most producers are known as being friendly, sociable, and able to attract the greatest qualities from their clients. Much like Brian with the track, George Fell Into His French Horn. But Phil, he just holds a gun to a persons head. There's actually a genuine line of logic behind this technique. See, rather than winning the confidence and enthusiasm by kindness, he just scares the crap out of the person. This gets the heart beat racing, the mind racing, and the need to play exceptionally well inbedded within the client.
