What is the story on this recording?  Sounds live, with what sounds like a black female vocal featured prominently inthe mix, and sounds  somewhat like MIU era or thereabouts.

Listening to this this morning along with a lot of other bits and pieces and it is clear that another EH or Hawthorne is possible.

Anyone know the history on this recording?

You talkin about the one that Terry Melcher was involved with Brian in the mid 70s (California Music?) or the alt. 45 version from 64?

Must be the mid 70's version. Sounds like that period. I heard in on a certain collection of recordings that have been circulating for some time.  I thought some of the regulars here might have heard it.  It is surprisingly good.

Oh it's the 1975 California Music 45 Brian produced. Really it's one of the first records he did that I don't care for. I know Terry Melcher sings on it, I forgot the women's name. Bruce is on it too.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
