Brian's described it as a short spanish sounding piano piece.

We have some that have a short piano piece (Holidays and the middle eight to Wind Chimes) and something that sounds Spanish inspired (Indian Wisdom) but no piece having both.

Brian did not describe it as a spanish sounding piece - he said it was a piano piece that was never finished.  "Indian Wisdom" wouldn't fit that bill at all.  Speaking of which, what tape box had Indian Wisdom on it?  This is the first I've heard of that.  If so, the tape box would have to have been empty, as Alan hasn't found any tape corresponding to an Indian Wisdom.

Are you sure? I could've sworn he said there was a spanish influence to it.

Has anyone ever considered that "All Day" was the "piano piece" for Air that wasn't finished? For some reason this seems to make the most sense, unless....

.....it's a piano track on a Heroes and Villains session from 1966 which appeared on a little-circulated bootleg which has been going around, albeit, a little.

Yes and no.
First, I don't think that piano piece ever existed and that it was just one of Brian's many 'who cares' interview answers.
On the other hand, "All Day" was rerecorded with air instruments in May 1967 during the "Love To Say Dada" sessions. So, "All Day" became an air-song, although the water arrangement is more known of course.
Piano piece could also be the "Long, long ago" / "Whisperin’ winds" parts before "Wind Chimes".

What about the Dada session that moves into a CIFOTM-style piano piece before breaking down after about 5 seconds.? I posted about it here before and someone suggested it actually was part 3 of Dada that Brian was intending to record but obviously the entire smile project went t**s up before the session. Maybe this part 3 was air?!! It is certainly another paino piece and is as viable (or unlikely) as any of the other options imo.

Well, here's a funny thing regarding Da Da.

The second version (or second "day) of Da Da is subtitled "Air Da Da".

That's the one with the chirping bird sounds right? Wouldn't be surprised if that was it. The only thingthough is that I feel something more then the water chant would have comprised the water element.

To buddhahat, that's a good suggestion as well. The third version of Da-Da does seem to end too quick.

Here's My Current SMiLE Mix

Side 1

6. With Me Tonight (Slow Version into Fast Version)
7. Child Is the Father Of The Man (Piano Intro into lengthy version based on Brian's Backing track)

Yes! I've been doing the same. Just tack "Child Is Father Of The Man" right onto the trailing bass of "With Me Tonight" (from Hawthorne). It works perfectly. And with Brian speaking in the background of the track (when he says "Sing that with a SMiLE"), it adds a little personality to the mix...

As previously noted, All Day became I Love To Say Da Da, which became Cool Cool Water. To my own ears All Day also sounds like the piano intro to Aren't You Glad from Wild Honey.
