Lets make a list of all the songs that The Beach Boys inspired. Everything from The Sun Rays to the Explorers Club.

I'll start

Little G.T.O. - Ronny & the Daytonas
I Live for The Sun - The Sun Rays
New York's a Lonely Town - The Tradewinds
Back In The USSR - The Beatles
Little Willow - Paul McCartney (The influence of Pet Sounds, especially 'You Still Believe in me" is very apparent here.)
Thru My Window- Jeffrey Foskett
Hey Little Cobra - The Rip Chords

The Barbecuties -   The life of Brian (and many other songs)
Honeyrider - You made me hate The Beach Boys (and many other songs)
Beatnik Termites - Mary Lou (and many other songs)
Radio Birdman - More fun
The Kung Fu Monkeys - Office surfer (and many other songs)

a ton of songs by The Queers, Travoltas, The Demonics, Surfin' Lungs, Psychotic Youth, Hawaii Mud Bombers, Ruth's Hat, Mach Pelican, Ramones, The Richies, The Barracudas, The Riptides

I could go on with this list forever.

For me, the most obvious one is The First Class song Beach Baby. I love the song, but on a high-quality recording with headphones, the edits are so painfully obvious. It is a fun song that I cannot help but sing along to.

The First Class song Beach Baby.
It's great cheerful song. Songs with positivity is the best type of songs. :D

Hot Rod High by The Knights

Right down to the falsetto it sounds a lot like The Beach Boys, I notice the credits on the 45 go to Gary Usher and Roger Christian. The thing that keeps it sounding directly by The Beach Boys? The chords sound way too generic to be anything done by Brian...or maybe it’s the production. Either way it sounds inspired by The Beach Boys but it’s far from capturing that magic.

I always got a major Pet Sounds vibe from You Can Do Better Than Me by Death Cab For Cutie.

At my most beautiful (R.E.M)
Brown shoes don't make it (Mothers Of Invention - a few bars parody The Beach Boys including a Little deuce coupe quote)

"Come To California" by Matthew Sweet. A hybrid/mashup of some very familiar BB and BW studio and instrument ounds spanning from 1968 up to "Love You".

Watch at 2:20 in the video, you'll see Sweet holding a vinyl "Wild Honey" wearing a bathrobe and BW-style long hair and a fake beard. He's a big fan.  Smiley  I wonder how many people watching who were not fans of this mid-period Beach Boys music got the jokes..musically or visually.

Cool tune.

Girl We Got A Good Thing by Weezer. I like that this even leans more toward a Brian Wilson solo track than a full blown BB's sound. This one has some modern touches, but the first time I heard it I got that really strong BB/BW vibe, especially in the chorus and the melody.

Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats "I Need Never Get Old".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2hxU4UG3dA

Musically, as soon as the drum groove starts, tell me you don't start singing "Darlin'" along to the beat.

Visually, the video is a send-up about the obsessive process of recording in the studio. This one features Rateliff and the band wearing toy plastic fire chief helmets and chomping a celery stalk at the microphone.

Influence, much?  Grin

Edit: Another Rateliff tune with the "Darlin'" groove - Look It Here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LNe5HQTQX0

Granted that drum beat is pretty stock in terms of 60's soul and R&B, but I can't help thinking "Darlin" whenever I hear things like this.

The Explorers Club:
The whole 1st album
Parts of the 2nd
Most of the 3rd (which includes another Darlin' groove)

Elvis Costello: the other side of summer

XTC:
Chalkhills and children
Books are burning (nothing obvious on the surface, but Andy Partridge came up with the chord progression after dissecting I get around)

Love the Surfin’ Lungs mention. One of my all time favourite bands. They covered Drive-In a few years back. Loads of their stuff is inspired by The Beach Boys.

The Blue Oyster Cult song Golden Age of Leather has a nod to the beginning of Good Vibrations in the middle.

DEAR BRIAN - Chris Rainbow
GHOST AT #1 - Jellyfish (especially the fade)
SHE'S JUST MY STYLE - Gary Lewis & The Playboys
and of course,
BEACH BABY - First Class

PS - I just remembered a conversation I had with songwriter Paul Davis in 1986. We were talking music and the conversation got around to Brian Wilson. He said that his song BOP (big country hit by Dan Seals) was inspired by DARLIN'. He then when on to demonstrate the ascending bassline in the the chorus of his song then sang a bit of DARLIN's verse over it.

Basically all songs off both albums by Danish group Surf School Dropouts; started out harmonizing Beach Boys songs, then evolved into writing original songs with a tip of the hat to Brian & the Boys...

Probyn Gregory guests with a mean surf guitar solo on the second album! (Coastline Cruisin')
