$150 for Lancaster? No thanks...I'll be sitting out this leg too. Very fond memories of my two pet sounds shows last year!

Wow, hard to believe less than two years ago, I got 2nd row seats at Mont College for $60 ir so each.

I had the student price in the 2nd row there...fifteen bucks!

Dang. Cant beat that.

Re: Ticket prices; a lot of factors tend to be at play, and geographical region is one of them. I did a break down on a previous Brian tour (2015 I believe), and some regions have exponentially higher ticket prices than others. Sometimes it's because a region is a more metropolitan, populated region. Sometimes it's due to the higher-end venue.

I personally know that the American Music Theatre has been trying to get Brian Wlison for a very long time. Mike and Bruce play there at least once a year. This will sell out in no time just like Mike's shows do. However, there are going to be a lot of old country bumpkin fuddy-duddies that are totally confused as to what the hell is happening. I've been to many different shows there and it is always the same old crowd. They will be perplexed by Brian, offended by Blondie, and bored with Pet Sounds. On the plus side, they'll love the huge band and if the father-son duo is well represented, they'll eat that up too along with all the big hits.

Apologies if it was mentioned earlier, but it appears Darian is back on the Brian tour at the moment, and thus "Darlin'" returned, at least for the 5/12 show. It also looks like the last week or two "Do You Wanna Dance" has made a return to some degree.

Updated the setlists in the top post. Looks like, for the two Austin shows, they did the same thing they did for the two-night run in Washington DC and at least swapped a few songs out, doing the rarely-performed (for this tour) "Heroes and Villains" and "She Knows Me Too Well."

They didn't mention it! A little suprising haha

The show was phenomenal.  I've seen Brian 4 times over the past 3-4 years and this was the best.  I was worried because the show last fall was the worst.  Darian wasn't there last time, and I was worried when I found he was with the Zombies...

So glad he rejoined the 12th, no Darling performed, but I like his voice in the stack and energy he brings.  He and Gary Griffin were just having a blast.

Brian sang more this show than any show prior, and I mean sang.  Some of his vocals are what one has come to expect, but throughout the set, ESPECIALLY the Pet Sounds tracks, he really dug in.  There was some grit to his voice, an audible return to 15BO/Love You voicing, nearly beyond my belief.  My wife pointed out the same, enough verification for me.   I still smile just thinking about it.

So glad I saw him for a second show this tour, and on May 16th to boot.  It's hard telling what contributes to a varingly engaged BW, but there was no suggestion of tiring or becoming disengaged with the material.

Only difference between this show and Detroit last year was "Feel Flows" which was such and treat too Ellington hear live, you can certainly tell Blondie's respect for Carl in the performance.

So great to learn.  I was impressed with how well Brian was singing back in April.

I will probably embarrass myself here, because hard-core fans who've been on MB's know far more details than I.  Is it well-known that Sally Parks, in the early years of the their marriage, used to answer the phone "Parks and Recreation?"  If so, my apologies for not knowing what's "known".  If not, I always loved that.

My wife and I attended the Tulsa, OK show and was very surprised there was no mention of the Pet Sounds' release anniversary.  We saw Brian and the band last year down in Dallas TX.  The biggest difference between now and then was last year Brian was still attempting to sing his Pet Sounds album still and was as usual hit and miss but this year it felt like a heavy burden for him to perform this album and gave more lead vocals to Matt and Alan on several songs.  Brian seemed much more interested in doing the songs outside the PS album I will say.  It was great to hear more lead vocals from Alan as his voice still sounds great plus I never got the opportunity to see him when he toured his own band years ago.  I love seeing Brian in the flesh but as far as performing, it just didn't seem like his heart is in it anymore or maybe he was just having an "off" night.  I loved hearing "Feel Flows" as I've never heard it live before and also "Let Him Run Wild" which Matt did a great job on.  Overall, I loved the show, the band was great as always and if Brian still really wants to tour then at least they're doing the right thing and giving the band more and more lead vocals and Brian is still with us.

Regarding SOS, despite the above, remember during C50 Brian did seem to relish *roaring* the "damn the thunder" line ! LOL

Any YouTube clips? Would love to see/hear it.

I have tickets for Halifax and Moncton - five times seeing him in this extended tour.

Updated more setlists on the top post. Nothing new, though "She Knows Me Too Well" got swapped in on a recent show.

Curious why Al hasn't rotated anything in at least from time to time in place of "California Saga." I think they did 'Honkin'" like once or twice early in the tour. But no "Then I Kissed Her" or "Cottonfields" for quite some time now.

Still hoping they whip out some "Wild Honey" stuff. Brian on "Here Comes the Night" could sound pretty great.

I went to the San Diego show tonight, and even without reading this review prior, I noticed Brian's almost compete disengagement from the Pet Sounds album. He was talk-singing most of it and dropped out before the end of the song several times. He seemed much more interested in the other material. Perhaps the Pet Sounds tour has gone on too long. I'd like to see him incorporate more solo material; he has a huge solo catalog that he could draw from.

Overall the show was enjoyable, but Brian's disengagement from Pet Sounds was probably apparent to the majority in attendance. There were several cool semi rarities: Feel Flows, Salt Lake City, Let Him Run Wild, and Wake The World. Brian changed the lyrics (as he often has recently) to Love & Mercy.

It's ironic that Brian seems more disengaged from the PS material than a typical/random show from past years, yet *more* engaged by the first set of songs than recent times. It's almost like, if they could jettison the PS set and do more stuff that Brian's into, it would be a mind-blowingly high-energy show for Brian.

I'd have to think anyone would be kind of sick of a full album night after night after they're up to probably over 130 performances since last year. They've got roughly over 40 shows to go on this tour.

I agree to a certain extent, but it's not like some of the other well worn hits aren't trotted out night after night. Why is he bored of performing Pet Sounds, but not California Girls, Good Vibrations, the hot rod and surfing hits?

Good question.   Maybe because he has less leads then on the rest of the show...? I honestly don't know.

Maybe it has more to do with the sequencing of the actual show itself and less to do with the specific songs? He's probably tired of knowing that the second set is going to happen exactly the same way night after night because that is specifically what people are paying money to see on the tour.

But would anyone really object if he changed tack mid tour? Say if he started doing only a selection from PS (which might change nightly), interspersed with everything else? I very much doubt it. Surely most of his audience are only too happy to see their idol alive and reasonably well. And enjoying himself making music with his band.

In most cases, shows and tickets and venues don't warranty *what* will be played. So if Brian was just doing a regular tour, he could come out and open with "Slow Ride" and then play the entire "Appetite for Destruction" album and then leave the stage.

*However*, that's not the case on this tour. The shows are being sold to promoters as "Pet Sounds" shows, with the promotional info often specifically stating the album will be played in full. So they are warrantying both to promoters and ticket buyers that they're getting the full album. This is borne out by the fact that for shows last year and this year where they've had to play a shortened set (festivals, some casino venues, etc.), they shorten the *first* set and then still do PS in full.

Crazy, I know you were kidding but ironically enough my daughter made a comment a few days ago about Brian singing Slow Ride LOL

Heck, I'd rather hear Brian cover "Slow Ride" than a Jerry Lee Lewis or Chuck Berry song at this stage. So have at it Brian! Throw in some ELO for good measure.
