I vote All My Loving too.
Why? It's one of those very rare songs which give me the idea they have always existed somewhere, and they were just drawn out rather than composed. It's a song made of air and light. Another song giving me that idea is "Time to Get Alone".
Didn't vote for it but it's beautiful thing you said there. I didn't think like it.

At this point all I care is that It Won't Be Long is the final survivor. So I'll vote for Not a Second Time.

If you want It Won't Be Long to be the Survivor, you should vote for it. Final round it voting for your FAVORITE.

All My Loving
Not my favorite song on the album, not even top 3, but of the songs remaining I must vote for it. It's a great song. I struggled choosing between All My Loving and It Won't Be Long for a long time. It's odd how my favorites on Please Please Me aligned very closely with all of you, yet we're way off on With The Beatles.

If there's 3 songs left doesn't that mean we're in the 2nd-to-last round?

No. When we get to three, then you vote for your favorite of the Top 3 that are left.

90% of the time I use my iPod to listen to music. Sometimes I listen to albums straight through, but often I listen to songs and jump around based on what song I want to listen to most at that very moment. Typically, jumping back and forth between the Beatles and the Beach Boys. So, when trying to rank songs that I mostly enjoy equally, I think, 'well, what songs do I seek out the most?' I try to avoid thinking objectively about it, unless I'm absolutely stuck. It may be habit, but I'm always going back to those covers! Both the Beatles and Beach Boys had great taste and they both introduced me to so much great music! Also, I'm trying to approach this from a historical point of view (having been a fan for 15+ years) as opposed to what songs I happen to be digging at the moment. Because that literally changes moment to moment.
Btw, I listened to the Hard Day's Night album yesterday...I have two clear least favorites, after that I just about love every song equally. That's similar to how I feel about most of their albums (including this one).

OK. Successful uncrazying of things.
2B.E.: agree with your Top 3, except sub boring "You Really got a Hold" with maybe "Devil". "Please Mr. Postman" is great John lead, the best in this album. It's insane it's got the boot. I like "Not a Second Time" but assumed it's considered the lesser of Beatles tunes.

Here we go. The Beatles sophomore album.
Quote
With the Beatles is the second studio album by the English rock group the Beatles. It was released on 22 November 1963, on Parlophone, and was recorded four months after the band's debut Please Please Me. The album features eight original compositions (seven by Lennon–McCartney and "Don't Bother Me", George Harrison's first recorded solo composition and his first released on a Beatles album) and six covers (mostly of Motown, rock and roll, and R&B hits). The cover photograph was taken by the fashion photographer Robert Freeman, and it has been mimicked by several music groups over the years.
Not A Second didn't receive a second vote.
It Won't Be Long wasn't long enough.
The SURVIVOR of WITH the BEATLES is...
ALL MY LOVING
All My Loving
Following on the heels of the success of their first album, the Beatles were anxious to not rock the boat so they kept the general formula that seemed to work so well on Please Please Me. Though they took more time to record it.

Looking forward to the next round - one of two Beatles albums I've downloaded completely ( the other being Revolver).
Will be hard to vote off songs as I like them all. Even sort of like the one where John sings "I'm gonna love her til the cows come home" - gives me a chuckle

Hard Day's Night is going to be difficult to vote off anything.
As for It Won't Be Long, several years ago I started toying around with the chords on my (acoustic) guitar. Back in the early 90's I used to go to this bar in Seattle that had this brother-sister duet perform on weekend nights. He played acoustic guitar, and they both sang. One nifty arrangement they did was "She Loves You" which they basically turned into a slow ballad. It seemed to bring out things in the song you didn't notice in the Beatles' own version. Anyway, flash-forward about 20 years and, with that rendition in the back of my mind, I started doing the same thing with It Won't Be Long. On an acoustic guitar, some of the chord transitions in It Won't Be Long send shivers up my spine. But you can't really notice how nifty they are in the Beatles' loud, teeny-bopper oriented version. It's one of those songs you have to strip down and strip apart in order to find its inner beauty.
The chords for the bolded parts are what sends the shivers down my spine:
Every night when
everybody
has fun
Here am I
sitting
all on my own
And then the entire bridge does all kinds of nifty things. Don't know if anyone's ever turned this song into a ballad, but if they haven't, somebody should.

Paul deserved the win this time. He's way much gifted than John who has really bad voice from get-go. Nasal & bad English accent.

Great post, SMiLE-addict. Thanks. I had some time last night to heed your advice. I noticed that the chord change in the verse on "everybody" and "sitting" is a C (flat VI) while the song is in E major. After reviewing my Beatles Complete Scores book, I read Alan Pollack's notes. He referred to it as the 'Buddy Holly chord', as it very well may have been to John Lennon at the time. He also mentioned John used it in the bridge of I Call Your Name. Also, I found that dissonant A chord in the intro on "belong" to be interesting. That's something I never really paid close attention to before. I agree about the bridge, a lot going on. I like Paul's descending bass E-D#-D-C# and the backing vocals. Additionally, i just want to add how I've always loved John's vocal flourish during the final refrain followed by Paul leaping up on a subsequent 'yeah'. John's voice was incredible during that time.
I then looked at All Ive Got To Do a little bit more closely. I've always loved Paul's harmony which starts out parallel until he holds a note a bit longer before continuing. I always though that sounded cool. According to Pollack's notes Paul is singing in thirds before transitioning to parallel fourths. And again, I love John's vocal flourishes during the final bridge. It's these little details that keep me interested through the years.

Me too. It feels spontaneous, fun, and exciting. This song is full of similar things that I just plain love. I am disappointed it wasn't the Survivor.

Pixletwin, do you have a preference for the shorter UK version or longer US version?
And this is for any Beatles fan
....My Beatles collection consists mostly of the UK releases (multiple times over). Are there any unique US versions that I must add to my collection ASAP? I Feel Fine and I'll Cry Instead, sure. Any others??? I remember researching the differences years ago, but I've forgotten most of what I learned.
