Well, I found the video about the love letter that I was talking about, but it's been removed from YouTube. Where was that from anyways?

That's from the A&E Biography of Brian.  It is 2 hours and they show it every couple of months on the Biography channel.  I think you can also buy it on DVD

Two quick questions: Is the group starting to play too slow, and is Mike getting, ah, fat?

Yes (my personal tastes) and yes. Also, the "Be My Baby" drum riff, if you notice, is going through the whole song.

Still waiting for "Keep a Knockin'"...

Okay, on the request trail, if anyone can help me much appreciated: Plenty of people have self-filmed Brian's latest European concerts and posted their results. One exception has been missing: The band's cover of the Little Richard classic "Keep a Knockin'" with each of the singers (lead singers Darian, Scott, Taylor and Jeff) taking a turn at the lead. Ever since I heard about it I have been dying to see it. Can someone help me??

This is the first time I read about this. Did they really do "Keep a knockin'"? Where do you got that from?  Shocked
Blueboarder posted the setlist for a few of the gigs. On one of them Brian insisted they do it twice---once in the first set and then in the encores.

Well, then I need to hear that too !!
Rocker...and anyone else...I found the audio for one of the gigs that had this song. PM me if you're interested...

Okay, so my son took the audio, added some pictures (he's much more savvy) and made a video for "Keep a Knockin'" Audio is from Brian's rather good concert at Gateshead, 2009. Enjoy!

Okay, the "Forever" video has me a bit mad...beautiful, timeless tribute to Dennis (Carl's thicker voice is even a bit like Dennis') and then the fuckin' cheerleaders come out...ridiculous. If I was Carl I would've quit right then and there...

Pardon me...

I've never liked Paul Simon's version of Surfer Girl. He changed the melody so much it's not even the same song. Instead it sounds more like a Simon & Garfunkel song. Brian sort of alludes to that in the interview segment.

I thought--and think--it was brilliant. And it's a far bigger tribute that Simon did more than just ape the original. After all, the original exists, why just mimic it? The real tribute in Simon's performance was moving the tune out of Beach Boys territory and into the American songbook. He showed it out of context and it still held up. That's a great song that can do that. And he sang and played beautifully. As for whether a person likes the original or Simon's more doesn't matter at all to me.
