Deirdre!

When someone pointed that out to me, I nearly sh*t myself  LOL

Super Nintendo and the Beach Boys? Those are like my two favorite things combined! Unfortunately, due to all the copyright we'll never see Earthbound again and the cart goes for $100+ now. Thankfully, got it when it was $20

Just got reminded of this. A song from the SNES game "Earthbound". Sound familiar?

I don't hear anything that sounds familiar when I listen to that lol.

Listen to Dierdre. They're samples.

The creator did that all over the game. Big 60's rock fan. One part of the game dialogue goes like this:

"A song...XXXterday"

Yes      No

If you guess yes, it absolutely makes yesterday as an answer and you are told you are correct. Nothing awarded though  LOL

Two of those chords sound like 'Til I Die as well, but I also picked up on Deirdre! What a strange find....

Ah, yes. Deirdre is one of those songs I haven't really dove into 100% yet. Same with Sunflower. I like a few Sunflower songs, but as of right now the apparent greatness of it has yet to sink in for me. Not saying it'll never come around for me, because I couldn't get into '85 for the longest time but like it now.

Here's a higher quality audience shot of "Good Vibrations" at the Grammys.

Unfortunately it cuts out right after Brian's verse.

I really can't get into ANY of Bruces songs.  None of them.  I don't know what it is, maybe the syrupyness of them, or perhaps his vocals.  I know a lot of people love Disney Girls, but I can't stand it. Maybe if he was a solo artist?   For me he just doesn't fit with the rest of them, IMO of course.

I can get into his pre 1972 work to a degree though Tears and Nearest Faraway don't do much for me. Don't Run Away, Hey Little Cobra, My World Fell Down, are all works of art that he was involved with fairly directly. Sappy they may be but Brian and the others harmonies on Deirdre and Disney save those songs for me.

Not necessarily lol. I just have yet to sink into it like I did other albums. Carl and the Passions is the same way for me. For me, personally, my BB taste is something that's sort of in a growth process. Granted, I'm 3 years into the process now... but I feel like I fully got into each album one at a time. Sunflower and 20/20 are two albums that just haven't full-on hit me yet, while I can't get enough of Holland and Surf's Up. I'm not writing them off quite yet, I just haven't gotten to them 100%.

As far as Bruce's songs go, I know Tears gets a lot of crap, but I like it. And I LOVE Disney Girls. I love his voice, overall.

I just found this. Has anyone seen it before?   Brian looks pretty good here.  Carls face when hugging Brian is very moving.

I love seeing videos like this and I agree, you can see the love between the two here. They look like they have a lot of respect for each other.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

The interview bits between Mike and Stamos are cool.  Cool And it's always nice to see something "new" of Carl in the 90's.

Really, really good. At times you can hear a little bit of (young) Carl in his voice, albeit without Carl's "special" sweetness of voice. Ought to be among the top5 acoustic covers of GOK I've ever heard. If that guy ever gets around to tour, he should include GOK in his sets, no matter how good his original material is.

Wish I could put this in the comment section beneath the video, but my YT account's not working for some reason.  :O
