Say, would someone want to upload the 1966 TOur dvd on youtube? that'd be great and would help us out a little bit.

Oh yes, I'm a fascist because I want to delete my own post that no one had even seen instead of leaving up a blank post that wastes space and contributes nothing.

I was just wondering, because I haven't seen the video before, but does anyone have the video of their induction into the rock and roll hall of fame, the one where Mike Love bashes the Beatles for not all being there to accept their awards? That would be something very interesting to see.

I'm shocked and deeply saddened that my YouTube-account was deleted because BBC didn't tolerate the "Mess Of Help"-clip.

Are any of these Ed Sullivan videos actually from the Ed Sullivan show? Or do people assume that was the only outlet for live music performance in the 60s?

that video just seems to be the Euro Tour video from Endless Harmony that has Our Prayer, Country Air, I went to Sleep, and Loop De Loop playing over it.

Those Spector videos are great. Thanks for posting the links.
It's such a shame that that kind of music is laughed at now. People just don't, "get it," and I really do hate saying that. I simply do not understand why large scale productions and excellent songs are now passe. People will laugh in the face of anyone who admits to liking this type of stuff.
I was playing a Korg Triton today, (
http://www.coolbotz.com/items/music_gear/keyboards/Korg_Triton_proX_1a.jpg
). Besides having disgustingly bright and ugly samples, it has PRE-MADE songs almost programmed in. It required a great strength of the finger to push down a key and it would play with a full arrangement of instruments. That means I could hit *record* and press a key and have a song done for me. There's a whole group of kids now growing up, (my generation) who have this availability to them, it's the collective lazyness of a whole bunch of people. I have a digital keyboard, (
http://www.yamahapkowner.com/gallery/DGX305/galleryImage4.jpg
) and I'm fairly ashamed to own it. I make full-scale productions on my own, but not with real musicians! I play the keyboards fine and just overdub to my heart's content. I once had this girl come over with her Tenor Sax and we did a faux-Gershwin type of thing. I must say that there is no substitute whatsoever for the real thing.

Did they really dupe Ed? He sounds as sincere as a rock introducing them as Swedes.

good point Mr. Fogg, I'm a huge enthusiast about big productions...i've been laughed at about liking Bacharach...I was always told the 3 main producers of the 1960s was Spector/Wilson/Bacharach...shame there wasn't another decade like that with the same amazing artists

Their Grandparents were such bums that they camped on the beach. They had home made metal detectors which they used to search for pennies in the sand. Mike Love worked at a gas station; the strand of straw in the mouth came with the uniform!
