By the way, that last post of mine was referring to this:

An interesting read, the "Pick 3 songs" topic. Seriously.
However...
I just thought Mike's Boys put on a great show last June (as did Brian and band in 2008). They did what they did. And what they didn't do etc.
I could've been more clear.

It was very clear to me, cap'n. Maybe I wasn't being altogether clear when I responded to it.

I want to respond in kind with some kind of semiapologetic clarification, that'd just be silly.

Another heartwarmingly informative topic: "Hal Blaine, Larry King - 1990". Gives one hope for Smiley's future.

JK, it's my hope that one day the kind of inaccurate statements and outright false claims as are pushed back and corrected in the topic you mentioned will inspire the same kind of pushback and corrections to be applied to the outright nonsense and falsehoods that certain members of another place you visit have been spreading and repeating to gullible fans for years. Everything from the handlers to being controlled and drugged to who actually produced certain albums, never mind the outright personal slander on family and kids. The fact those people most responsible for spreading that crap aren't here is the kind of hope that already happened and which maybe someday you'll realize the benefits of.

Yes! Merry Christmas to everyone, here and on all the other boards. Put on Brian’s Christmas album, or the Beach Boys Christmas album - enjoy the holidays, be safe!

you post in the Smiley musicians' threads. When will you share music by band(s) you used to be with?
Never, I'm afraid. I used to do it on other boards but my policy has changed since then. Sorry!

Thing is, I got into trouble online a while back (I'm out of it now) so I prefer to keep a low profile these days if I can. It's impossible to leave out the accompanying information when linking stuff on YouTube so I've stopped linking band videos altogether.

Sure. Can you at least say then this thing - did the band sing their made songs or covers?
Covers. I'll post a selection from our set list, maybe tomorrow.

Here 'tis. We'd moved on in recent years from playing mainly blues to playing mainly soul:
Love Me Like A Man (Bonnie Raitt)
God Bless The Child (Blood Sweat & Tears)
Victim Of Love (The Eagles)
You Can Leave Your Hat On (Joe Cocker et al.)
Real Mother For Ya / Gangster Of Love (Johnny "Guitar" Watson)
I Got A Woman (Ray Charles)
Papa Was A Rolling Stone (The Temptations)
Walking The Dog (Rufus Thomas)
That's How Strong My Love Is / Hard To Handle / Mt. Pitiful (Otis Redding)
In The Midnight Hour / Land of 1000 Dances / 634-5789 / Mustang Sally (Wilson Pickett)
Fool For Your Stockings (ZZ Top)
When Something Is Wrong With My Baby (Sam & Dave)
Mess Of Blues / One Night (Elvis)
Whole Lotta Rosie (AC/DC)

Ha, this is way funny. Not the single song I like.
Except Wilson Pickett's. You played keyboards, right? Anything else?
There are some there I wouldn't bother listening to either!
I used to play bass guitar with my brother's band in the UK in the early '70s but bass technique has moved on slightly since then!
