Getting Hungry US 45 Generic Sleeve

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to what generic sleeve this tying was sold in. A capitol sleeve? A unique brother records sleeve? I can find pictures of the various picture sleeves online but not the generic sleeve. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

A few years ago, I found a couple mint copies of the Heroes and Villains single on the Brother label that appeared to be old unsold store stock. They came in plain generic brown paper sleeves with a hole in the center to expose the label. I believe the copies of these singles that didn't come with picture sleeves came this way. Not all 45s came with picture sleeves when new, even 45s for which a picture sleeve exists.

Stand to be corrected but I don't think there was a domestic pic sleeve.

My first day of release purchase from 1967 (east coast) has a plain white sleeve.

Do you recall, was this filed under "Beach Boys" at the time?
Did you, as a customer, think that this was a one-off side project for the band (considering it has the unusual "Brian and Mike" distinction)?

There was a picture of a mock-up of "Gettin' Hungry" artwork in a
Billboard
ad, but no, there was never a U.S. picture sleeve. Every copy I've ever seen came in a plane brown paper sleeve.
More than you ever want to know about "Gettin' Hungry" in this thread -- including the artwork I mentioned above:

There's a pic on the single's wiki page, could be an international variant, or a fake, but it has a Capitol logo and uses the same mock-up art as the ad:

Capitol logo ? There's the giveaway. The "GH" 45 in the US was on Brother 1002.

True. But the Billboard trade ad has both a Brother and Capitol logo. I have no reason to believe that sleeve is original, but the Capitol logo isn't the most far fetched thing ever. Though not necessarily comparable, there are weird things like Mexican "Hey Jude" singles on the Capitol swirl label.

I should also mention I'm not a expert in this field. I think books like Bruce Spizer's Beatles books are indispensable, but the page after page of label variants puts me to sleep eventually.

That's the Dutch sleeve. Note the catalog number HF 301 in the upper right corner.

Serendipity on my part. I happened to be in the record store the day the stock guy was taking new records out of boxes and overheard them talking about it as a Beach Boys record, so I bought it.

Interesting rendering. Brian looks like he's deep in thought with his creative process, and Mike looks........kinda pissed off.
