For all who might feel inspired to create their own palindromes, there is an on-line service called: palindromegenerator.com to help along the way. Start small, though. Like in a recent example: >Brianisms in 'Air', B.<.
Have fun!

H'mm. No comment!  Cool Guy

As I see it, the aspiring palindromist should first choose a theme and then pick combinations of words relating to that theme that can be reversed into other combinations of words. The following lists can help but are a means to an end (call them the glue that holds it all together):

http://users.tinyonline.co.uk/gswithenbank/backword.htm
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Appendix:English_palindromes

What you need most, besides a way with words, is patience----masses of it. If you can use your spare time away from the computer to puzzle it out, so much the better. Walking the dog, happy hour, before dropping off to sleep at night... all perfect for that purpose.

In order to keep the the spirits high while we hold our breaths, waiting  for the George Martin Memorial Pepper album cover to happen - here's a little appreciation for jk from your SMiLEr-pal and (I'm sure) all the other BeachB-oysters: For all your hard work so far, creating them poetry pearls. 'Tis about time that you had your very own haiku-palindrome! After all, Andrew Doe got his one - a long time ago ...

I'm deeply honoured. But I would advise against holding your breath as the cover will take a while if I'm to do it.

So AGD has had a haiku-drome too... Care to link it?

There would  *cough* seem to be a new palindrome in the (ahem) pipeline...

And here it is...

This is a truly desperate attempt to showcase Mr Rieley:

> Boston,'tis Kris, Wolf, Lee, Fred, Art, KC... A.J. nips to Baambrugge: "Egg Urb, Ma, a bot!" Spin Jack, Trader. Feel Flows irks it not [*sob*] <

Urb, for the uninitiated, is a character in Howard Browne's story Warrior of the Dawn. Wolf is probably Eddie Van Halen's bass-playing son (or Mozart).

AGD's haiku'drome? I'm hopeless at linking, but you'll find it in a thread called: "Come, my posse, let us convene ..." with your very own comment added, even!
[the first line in your own, has an added meaning for me personally in the first line: {to} Find/on*s (SMiLER~pen-)pal in ... well anywhere is just 'MAD'!!!]

Found it. Thanks, R. My, what a fine thread that was.

Nice to see Findon getting namechecked (again)...

As I so love the HOLLAND album - and all there is to it, I'll have to present john k's twin-tanka (the RengaWagner has done it again!) with Carl planning ahead in a memo, writing down WHO & WHAT to pack on the flight(s) from L.A. to Amsterdam. Feel like I owe it to account for the names in the beginning of verse II. Would suggest that CARL wanted to bring music along for added inspiration. We know that BRIAN brought the Randy Newman-LP. This was the era of the great singer/songwriters and of the almost TOO perfect sounding pop-singers (1972)!? So9 with that in mind, here's the list again: Boston (we know now Carl had cultivated a hard(er) rock streak!), Kris (Kristofferson), 'Wolf' (Mozart), Lee (Hazlewood), Fred (for Brian: Astaire Sings Gershwin), Art (Garfunkel), K.C. (Karen Carpenter). 'JACK' can only be Mr. Rieley!
[For the uninitiated: These names have nothing to do with the George Martin Memorial! (take all the time you'd need, jk!) And getting back to HOLLAND turf: Why not bring your S.O.S. rewrite (I'm sure that many of us members, especially ex- & former ex-ones have 'been there'!)]

And here's a pamplindrome... er, palindrome I've been working on today. The theme was to have been Brian's "minders" but it turned into another crazy Who's Who along the way:

> R.E.M., Leslie, Hal, Nik, Stan... I've knave Eno's up-ones: "Biff and Ooff R Us"! Spoof Rushton got A to G (not H). Surf? Oops! Surf food? Naff! (Ibsen, opus one.) Evan, Kevin at Skin (L.A.). Heil Selmer! <

This one was to have been longer but it got too messy (I may add more to it yet):

> One nil----or a con? Dogs, pets, sloops, spools, steps, God? No, Caroline... no!! <

One nil? Let's call it a sneaky tribute to Johan Cruyff, the greatest Dutch footballer of all time, who died earlier this week...

Whatever happened to Rasmus?

Has he retreated to a little cottage in the country for a profound rethink?

Or did he simply rush off screaming?

Time will tell. Cool Guy

While I'm here----this is what happened when I tried to assemble a palindrome around Audree (an absentee until now):
> Loop MGM's LA virtuoso Pete's "Rael", Audree. No iPad? A pioneer dual ear-set epos outrivals MGM pool <

OK, sorry. There are, of course, 1001 reasons for being offline, most of which are nobody else's business.

All my holidays away from home are 100% internet-free. In fact I'm offline the moment I leave my desk.

Thanks for the response, Rasmus.

To which I now add a palindrome prompted by the "Brian in Space" topic:

> Mods, I wonder: Rats, sun, eve, nut? Penn, rut, ass, ram? Deified Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Venus starred----no wisdom! <

And one more (has Bruce been "stealing" too?):

> L.A. Bruce wrote "Rub Race", "Take Red", "Deirdre", "Wendy S", "Susie C" (in minor), "Ronda", "Mona", no "Lynda" (error: read "Nylon"). A nomad, nor Ron. "I'm nice" is U.S., Syd. Newer dried Derek ate carburetor. We curb Al. <

Wow. Chapeau, sir. I like the way "starred" is followed by magic stars. :=)

And while I'm here...

Regrettably, this is to be my last post. My work has been getting behind, to say nothing of personal commitments, which means taking drastic measures. I shall no doubt look in as a browser from time to time as there is so much to learn here. It has been great fun.

Adios, folks.

Can't really argue with that. But still it's very sad that you must decamp!!! All I can say is that it has been great fun and very educational too! But luckily we have more of your great ones to present in Hai[ku]jack'd and renga-versions:

Haiku-Palindrome by RengaWagneR:

            >One-nil? --- or a con ?

Dogs, 'Pet*S', 'SLOOP's, spools, steps, GOD ...?

             No, Caroline ... NO !!!<

[And the great BRUCE-renga Palindrome-Poem by RengaWagneR. Featuring one-time Beach Boys press-officer, DEREK Taylor and SYD Barrett]:

"Written by BRUCE" (?) 'ET AL' !!

                       -I-
    ->'Tis L.A. BRUCE! - WROTE:

"Rub Race"/"Take Red"/DEIRDRE" &

         "WENDY"s/"SUSIE C"

   (in minor!)/"RONDA"/"MONA"...

 no "LYNDA" (error: read "Nylon").

                    -II-
        A nomad, nor Ron.

   "I'm nice" is U.S., Syd!!  NEW>

         &  er ... 'dried' DEREK

       ate ******' carburetor!

"We curb, AL!  ** ******' SIT !!"<-

Count on it! In a way, I'm just upholding a fine Smiley tradition of folks who say they're leaving. Grin

In that respect, hats off to a few like Mujan who keep their word. A great shame, of course, but they clearly have principles.

Now I'm "back"  I suppose I'd better start thinking about a new palindrome...

What a team!

Well, I've been trying to do something with "Good Vibrations" for weeks but it has next to no palindromic potential, it seems. You might catch a whiff of it here (just follow the bouncing ball):

"A. Layne pets 1966 Dartmoor debutante no. nine [PP]
/ Aha!----Vosse sees Esso V a-happenin' on Etna"

Tubed Room, trad. 6691-step, Enya, L.A.

And here it is: This time a U2-inspired renga-palindrome featuring their super-producers: Lanois & Eno [PA='REG'gie Dunbar, Loren=Darro & Tony=Asher, Nat=King Cole?] by RengaWagneR:
