sh*t Vacation...

Surprised at it's popularity here, as soon as I got this album on Vinyl and played it loud, I was instantly and deeply embarrassed by this horrid song (and Beaches In Mind)
There's a bit more to it than Shelter and Bill & Sue methinks... though the lyrics are far more atrocious than either of those.

Pacific Coast Highway. By now, I'm not going to make tactical vote. The time will show.

Time will show it winning Survivor. I am willing to bet on that.

sh*t Vacation
sh*t Dance, sh*t Dance, sh*t Dance

How about just "sh*t, sh*t, sh*t?"

"You gotta sh*t, sh*t, sh*t!"

or

"And she'll have sh*t, sh*t, sh*t 'til her daddy takes her T-Bird away"

On our way through this "backstage" maze, Bruce joined up with the group and said hello, singing "It Never Rains in Southern California" and joking with some of the older ladies. I'm not sure if they knew he was a Beach Boy or simply an enthusiastic elderly gay gentleman.

I'll be incredibly astonished if it won't. I know how lots of you love "Summer's Gone" & "Pacific Coast Highway", but really, if there's 1 Survivor Round that should have sticker in early stages that reads "No contest", it is this one, with the track "From There to Back Again".

Really? Give me the album version of It's About Time over the rest of the album any day of the week...

"Private Life of Bill and Sue" gets my hammer/vote.  Hardly needs another.  Sounds like a re-make of "South American" - which is much, much better.
Listened to the album again last night.  It keeps getting better.  I'd now say there are only three weak tracks, and it looks like we are mostly in agreement on which three.  That's the way...always reassessing.
Also want to throw my hat in the ring for "From There to Back Again" - very mid-60's arrangement.   Love Brian's bit.  Al did a beautiful job.
This is headed for a great finish.  Right now I'm not sure what to vote as the best one.  Better give it another listen.

Best track on the album. Listened to the album twice this weekend and most of it sounded rather good, even Spring Vacation. My vote this round is Bill & Sue. A quirky Brian number that misses the mark a bit.

Finally here we are. The final regular round of Beach Boys Survivor. Please remember as we vote to respect other people's opinions. Lets have fun!

Quote
That's Why God Made the Radio is the twenty-ninth studio album by American rock band The Beach Boys, released on June 5, 2012 on Capitol. Produced by Brian Wilson, the album was recorded to coincide with the band's 50th anniversary, and is the first to feature original material since the release of Summer in Paradise in 1992.[2] The album is also the first to feature guitarist and backing vocalist David Marks since the release of Little Deuce Coupe in 1963. It is also the first Beach Boys album to be made since the 1998 death of lead guitarist and vocalist Carl Wilson and to feature both David Marks and Bruce Johnston.
Preceded by the single "That's Why God Made the Radio", the album reached number 3 on the Billboard 200 and was their highest charting studio album of new material since 1965, placing them second all-time with longest span of top 10 albums at 49 years (The Beatles would tie that record with On Air – Live at the BBC Volume 2 the following year). Frank Sinatra holds the record at 52 years of top 10 albums.

20 of us put on our steel toed boots and kicked Bill and Sue in their Private Life.

As per the usual, vote off your LEAST FAVORITE track.

Tally will be on May 20th

Think About the Days
That's Why God Made the Radio
Isn't It Time
Spring Vacation
Shelter
Strange World
From There to Back Again
Pacific Coast Highway
Summer's Gone

Round#1 - Beaches in Mind May 14
Round#2 - Daybreak Over the Ocean May 16
Round#3 - The Private Life of Bill and Sue

Though it's getting tough, my third vote remains an easy one.

Darlin'.. oops I mean Shelter.

I assume Bill and Sue is toast as of this round, but it's far from my least favorite here. It has a fun, snappy, laid-back sound, and I like the unusually jaded, unusually ironic 'la-la-la' background vocals in the chorus.

Plus, this is The Beach Boys singing a song musing about why people enjoy celebrity drama. That's just funny in itself.
